The four of them went out together. The bus hadn’t stopped yet, so they took it smoothly to the city center.

The lighthouse was located in Blue Sky Square in the city center. This lighthouse wasn’t a navigational lighthouse at sea, but rather a lighthouse showcasing light and shadow technology to create a romantic atmosphere for the city.

When Yan Qingchi and Jiang Mochen arrived, a large crowd had already gathered near the lighthouse. Looking at it from afar, he noticed that the lighthouse’s shape was actually more like the Eiffel Tower, only wider. Not far from the lighthouse, in four directions, were four circular fountains.

The lighthouse wasn’t lit yet, and the fountains were still off, but melodious music was already playing in the square.

Li Mo had done her research beforehand, so she reminded them, “We need to go a little further forward; the view is best from the front.”

She pulled Li Bozhong, trying to push forward, but Li Bozhong urged her to slow down while following her.

Li Mo took a few steps, but seeing that Yan Qingchi and Jiang Mochen didn’t move, she went back to pull them. “We need to move forward.”

“You go ahead,” Yan Qingchi said. “It’s fine for a girl like you to squeeze forward, but it’s not good for two grown men like us, especially since we’re not short and we’ll block other people’s view.”

Li Mo nodded, thinking he made sense, so she thought for a moment and then, with a spirit of sacrifice, said, “Then I won’t go to the front. I’ll just watch from here, and we’ll watch together.”

Jiang Mochen looked at her and said, “Xiao Mo, come here.”

Li Mo watched Jiang Mochen walk to the side and followed him with a confused look. “What’s wrong, brother?”

Jiang Mochen gestured to the cameraman who was filming him and Yan Qingchi, telling him to point the camera at Yan Qingchi and not film him. The cameraman had no choice but to turn the camera away.

Jiang Mochen looked at Li Mo and said gently, “Xiao Mo, do you want to watch the lights with me and your Qingchi brother?”

Li Mo nodded excitedly, “Of course I do.”

Jiang Mochen said softly, “No, you don’t.”

Li Mo: …

“Do you understand?”

Li Mo felt tears welling up inside. She then cried out in her heart, “No, I want to, I really want to. Who wouldn’t want to watch the lanterns with their idol?” But on the surface, she could only nod, “I understand.”

Jiang Mochen smiled, “Good girl.”

Li Bozhong was explaining the structure and significance of the lighthouse to Yan Qingchi. But before he finished, he saw Li Mo return.

Li Mo pulled him, “Let’s go, Dad, let’s go to the front.”

Li Bozhong was puzzled, “Didn’t we just say we’d stand here and watch together?”

Li Mo was particularly cold, “That was me from before. I don’t want to now.”

Li Bozhong was completely confused.

So Li Mo pulled her elderly father along, saying, “Come on, let’s go up ahead.”

She sighed as they walked, realizing that they’d spent almost the entire day together, and Jiang Mochen and Yan Qingchi definitely needed some private space. Besides, she was a fan of both of them; how could there not be some distance between fans and idols?

Yan Qingchi watched Li Mo leave with Li Bozhong, then turned to Jiang Mochen, “What did you say to Li Mo?”

“I just helped her understand her own feelings, so she wouldn’t miss out on the fun of traveling because of us.”

Yan Qingchi looked incredulous. “Really?”

Li Mo was a fan of both of them; two male gods combined couldn’t compare to the allure of the lighthouse? Yan Qingchi was utterly unconvinced.

Jiang Mochen nodded sincerely.

“Come on, let’s go over there.” He pointed to a crowd gathering not far away, which looked less crowded than where they were currently standing.

“But what if Teacher Li and the others come back looking for us and can’t find us?”

Jiang Mochen, seemingly prepared, turned to the cameraman. “So, I’ll trouble you to wait here for Teacher Li and the others.”

The cameraman pointed to himself. “Me?”

“Yes, otherwise, without our phones, it’s easy to get lost from Teacher Li and the others.”

“But I still have to film you.”

“Film the lighthouse. I heard it’s especially beautiful when it lights up. I’m sure the audience will be amazed.”

I think the audience would rather see the two of you, the cameraman thought to himself. But Jiang Mochen had already said it all, how could he not understand what he meant? So he could only nod helplessly. “Okay.”

The cameraman pointed the camera at the lighthouse, calmly preparing to film the lighting scene. He didn’t have much of a complaint about Jiang Mochen’s actions. After all, Jiang Mochen’s status was undeniable. When he signed the contract, it was stated that his wishes were paramount. If he didn’t want to film, or didn’t want a certain segment to air, the production team had to agree unconditionally.

Moreover, throughout the journey, Jiang Mochen had been very cooperative with the production team, even proactively helping others in the group. The production staff had a good impression of him and naturally didn’t think he was being arrogant.

Jiang Mochen thanked the cameraman and then said to Yan Qingchi, “Let’s go.”

Yan Qingchi felt that he was really getting better and better at exercising his rights as a celebrity. He followed Jiang Mochen away from the production staff, turned off his microphone, and whispered, “Did you plan this all along?”

“Who am I doing this for?” Jiang Mochen looked at him.

Yan Qingchi chuckled.

Jiang Mochen reached out and pulled him, “Let’s go, let’s go over there.”

The two chose a less crowded spot and stood up to watch the lights.

Yan Qingchi looked down at Jiang Mochen’s watch; it was already eight o’clock, and it should be starting soon. He looked at Jiang Mochen’s watch and unconsciously reached out to wipe the dial. It was the watch he had given Jiang Mochen for his birthday, and Jiang Mochen had been wearing it all this time.

“I’ll get you a new one another day,” Yan Qingchi said. “It’s been so long.”

Jiang Mochen glanced down at his watch, then took Yan Qingchi’s hand again. “Okay,” he said.

Suddenly, the music changed. Yan Qingchi heard gasps from the crowd. Looking up, he saw that the fountains around the lighthouse had started spouting water. In the misty fog, the four fountains displayed interwoven light and shadow, leaping fish, and pearl shells. As the music played, the shells opened, and a little girl lifting her skirt emerged from the light and shadow. She jumped forward, onto a nearby fountain, then to the side, finally landing on the tower.

The tower had three stories. As the lights flickered, the little girl, painted with light and shadow, walked upwards, lifting her skirt. Suddenly, a little boy, also painted with light and shadow, appeared at the top of the tower. The boy wore a top hat and crouched on the top, watching the girl walk upwards. The girl ran quickly towards the top, while the boy played hide-and-seek with her around the tower.

The girl was a little angry and turned away from him. The boy then walked up to her and invited her to dance. The two danced gracefully to the music, and as the clock struck 8:05, the light and shadow slowly disappeared, and the boy and girl vanished, leaving only the lights on the tower’s top, the fountains still spouting water, and the music still flowing gently.

Yan Qingchi thought the light show was absolutely spectacular; no wonder Li Mo said so many people online recommended it— it was definitely worth seeing.

He was about to share his thoughts with Jiang Mochen when he saw the people around him dancing to the music in the square.

They danced very gently, as if enjoying a rare romantic moment.

As Yan Qingchi watched, he suddenly heard Jiang Mochen say, “Let’s dance too.”

He turned his head and saw Jiang Mochen glance at him, take a slight step back, bend slightly, put his left hand behind his back, and extend his right hand towards him.

“May I dance with you, Mrs. Jiang?” he asked.

Yan Qingchi had never been treated like this before, and was momentarily surprised, yet also unconsciously felt a touch of romance.

“But… I don’t know how to dance the women’s steps,” he said helplessly. “How about you dance the women’s steps?”

“I don’t know either.”

“When Sister Xingchen was learning to dance, didn’t you learn with her?”

“I only learned to dance to match her, but if she dances the women’s steps, I can only dance the men’s steps to match her.”

“That’s a pity.”

“Mrs. Jiang, could you please give me your hand first? People are going to stare at me if I keep bending over like this.”

Yan Qingchi quickly placed his hand on the hand that was offering him. “Even if I give it to you, it won’t help. Neither of us knows how to dance the women’s steps.”

Jiang Mochen straightened up, holding Yan Qingchi’s hand with his left hand and placing his right hand on his waist. “You actually have a second skill besides singing that you can’t do.”

Yan Qingchi was speechless. “Even if I were an all-rounder, I’m still a boy. Why would I learn the women’s steps?”

“Put your hand on my shoulder,” Jiang Mochen said.

Yan Qingchi put his hand on his shoulder.

Jiang Mochen swayed gently with him to the music. “Isn’t this enough?”

“This isn’t dancing!” Yan Qingchi laughed. “If your dance teacher saw this, he’d be furious.”

“He can’t see it anyway, us being in a foreign country.”

Yan Qingchi smiled and chuckled, dancing along with him while complaining, “Our dancing is worse than calisthenics.”

“Next time we go home, I’ll play you some calisthenics. Maybe Qi Qi can dance with you. Elementary school students have to do exercises too.”

“Do you want to lead the exercises?”

“No,” Jiang Mochen smiled, “I’ll record a short video for you.”

Yan Qingchi couldn’t help but laugh. “Isn’t that my job?”

“You should give others a chance sometimes, right?”

Yan Qingchi thought he had a lot of twisted logic. He smiled and didn’t say anything more, focusing on dancing with him.

“Let’s try it out. I’ll step back, you step forward, let’s do a few steps.” Jiang Mochen suggested.

“Okay.”

Yan Qingchi looked down at their feet and stepped forward, while Jiang Mochen also looked down and quickly stepped back. Next, Jiang Mochen moved forward while Yan Qingchi stepped back. Listening to the music and watching their footwork, they hopped a few steps before one of them, without thinking, stepped on the other’s foot.

Yan Qingchi quickly pulled his foot back, saying sorry, but couldn’t stop smiling.

Jiang Mochen shook his head, “Continue.”

This time they were careful and didn’t step on each other again, but as they looked up, they bumped into each other with a “thud.” They both laughed involuntarily and looked at each other.

Jiang Mochen reached out and rubbed his forehead, asking, “Does it hurt?”
