Yan Qingchi instantly felt a headache coming on. He thought that as long as he wasn’t on Fei Jingyu’s team, things would be a little more peaceful, but he didn’t expect Yu Xiaoyu to be just as bad.

At the crucial moment, it was the boatman sitting at the stern who went to the bow to help Yu Xiaoyu row. Probably afraid that the argument on the boat would cause an accident, the boatman let them all go ashore after the boat docked.

Yu Xiaoyu stood aside sulking, while Wei Zhihang shrugged at the others with a speechless expression.

Yan Qingchi asked Jiang Mochen, “You mean, with them both like this, they still want to team up?”

“Otherwise what? The contract has already been signed, and we don’t have an elimination system.”

Yan Qingchi shook his head, “Why bother?”

He lowered his voice and said in Jiang Mochen’s ear, “But the audience might like watching their team, after all, arguing is a highlight.”

Jiang Mochen looked at him, “Luckily, we don’t need that kind of highlight.”

“Right.” Yan Qingchi was very relieved.

After waiting a while, Mo Xiaoxiao and her group arrived. Mo Xiaoxiao asked them, “How come you were so fast?”

“We had the boatman help us,” Yan Qingchi replied, downplaying the situation.

Mo Xiaoxiao nodded, “I see.”

After rowing, they strolled around the city center before heading to the supermarket to buy fruits, vegetables, and staple foods to fill their refrigerator.

Li Bozhong, who was in charge of the money, had made a list beforehand. Everyone bought what they needed and returned to their temporary accommodation. It was already 6 PM. Li Bozhong told them to rest while he cooked. However, most of them felt embarrassed and suggested dividing the work.

Fei Jingyu frowned, reluctantly choosing the simplest task— washing vegetables. He quickly finished, then excused himself, saying he was too tired and needed to rest, before returning to his room.

Yue Ziming, somewhat embarrassed, explained that he was just a bit straightforward and hoped they wouldn’t misunderstand.

Yan Qingchi thought to himself, “This isn’t just a bit straightforward, this is a really bad temper! Wei Lan is so straightforward, but when Sun Xun asked him to wash vegetables, he obediently sat on the stool and washed them clean. Unlike this guy!” Yan Qingchi showed the vegetables in his hand to Jiang Mochen. It was hard to tell the difference between washed and unwashed vegetables.

Jiang Mochen took the vegetables from him and went to the sink to wash them again. Yu Xiaoyu saw this from afar and took the opportunity to come to the sink with her own vegetables to wash. “Brother Jiang, you’re washing vegetables too?”

Jiang Mochen hummed in response.

Yu Xiaoyu smiled and said, “Perfect, we can wash them together.”

Jiang Mochen looked up at her, and Yu Xiaoyu gave him a sweet smile.

Jiang Mochen didn’t speak and continued washing the vegetables.

Yu Xiaoyu felt he was a bit cold, so she tried to liven things up, “By the way, are you going to the lighthouse tonight?”

“Yes.”

“Really? Great, I’ll go too.”

Jiang Mochen nodded calmly, as expected.

“Jiang-ge, remember to call me when you leave,” Yu Xiaoyu reminded him.

“I’ll pass, let Li Mo call you.”

“Huh?” Yu Xiaoyu was reluctant, “Li Mo is going to the lighthouse too.”

“Yeah.”

Yu Xiaoyu unconsciously pouted, “But I still prefer you to call me.”

Jiang Mochen: “…”

“Is that okay?” Yu Xiaoyu was persistent, “Our rooms aren’t far apart, it’ll be easy for you to call me, okay?”

Jiang Mochen felt that she really had the personality of a young lady. Compared to her, Zhang Ningwei’s pampered upbringing could be called delicate, Li Mo’s pampered upbringing could be called charming, while Yu Xiaoyu’s was probably just spoiled. So Jiang Mochen decided to change the subject and let the equally pampered little princess Li Mo face Yu Xiaoyu.

He turned off the tap, walked over to Li Mo, who was helping Li Bozhong, and patted her on the shoulder. “I’ll cook with Teacher Li. Can you wash the vegetables at the sink for me, okay?”

Li Mo didn’t know how to cook; she had just been drafted by Li Bozhong to help out. Hearing this, she nodded hastily, “Deal.”

However, when she got closer to the sink and saw Yu Xiaoyu, she felt a headache coming on.

When Yu Xiaoyu saw her coming, she was surprised and asked, “Why are you here?”

“I came to wash the vegetables.”

“What about Brother Jiang? Isn’t he the one washing the vegetables?”

“He went to help my dad cook, so I’m washing the vegetables for him.”

Yu Xiaoyu was unhappy. “Li Mo, Brother Jiang is a good person and helpful, but he’s not in your group. Can you please stop ordering him around? Your dad is the tour guide, not Brother Jiang.”

Li Mo didn’t like hearing this. “What are you talking about? I never ordered Brother Mochen around with my dad. Who is Brother Mochen? Only he can order anyone around.”

“The others here might not be able to, but you and your father can! Your father can act like an old man, and you can act like a child! Calling him ‘Brother Mochen’ all the time, do you think you’re two years old?”

Li Mo slammed the dishes into the sink. “Yu Xiaoyu, how dare you talk like that? If you keep spouting nonsense, I’ll get rough with you!”

Her outburst startled everyone in the kitchen. Yan Qingchi, who was closest to them, asked, “What’s wrong?”

Li Mo looked at Yu Xiaoyu and sneered, “What I call him is none of your business! If you’re so capable, call him that too! If not, shut up! The person involved hasn’t said anything. Who do you think you are, lecturing me? Do you really think that just because I call you ‘sister,’ you can consider yourself my sister?”

“Xiao Mo,” Li Bozhong walked over, put his hand on her shoulder, and looked at her. “Why are you talking like that?”

“She started talking nonsense herself.”

“What nonsense am I talking about!” Yu Xiaoyu said. “I saw it all that day. Didn’t you ask Brother Jiang for help when you were planning the trip? Didn’t Brother Jiang help with the explanations during the tour? And these things, didn’t Brother Jiang also help you decide which ones to buy? Brother Jiang isn’t a tour guide, but he’s like a tour guide’s assistant. Am I wrong?”

“That was voluntary,” Jiang Mochen said.

“That’s because you helped them, one old and one young. But you can’t just help once and then again. He can’t take advantage of his age and always make you help! Even the current division of labor is like that. Why should you cook while his daughter does the easiest job of washing vegetables? Isn’t he just being biased and taking advantage of his age?”

Li Mo then raised her foot to kick her, but Yu Xiaoyu dodged it.

Yan Qingchi chuckled, “If it’s according to what you say, I think Teacher Li is very biased towards you. Otherwise, why would he make you do the easiest job of washing vegetables?”

“I’m a girl,” Yu Xiaoyu said.

“So you’re the only girl here, and Mo Xiaoxiao, Zhang Ningwei, and Yue Ziming aren’t girls, right?”

“But I’m young.”

“Don’t you remember that Li Mo is two years younger than you?”

Yu Xiaoyu was speechless for a moment, opening her mouth but not saying a word.

Jiang Mochen never expected that sending Li Mo to face Yu Xiaoyu would cause such a scene. Among these people, besides Yan Qingchi, he was only close to Li Bozhong and Li Mo because he had worked with Li Bozhong before and remembered that Li Bozhong had taken good care of him back then.

He didn’t want to be with Yu Xiaoyu, nor did he want Yan Qingchi to be with her, so he chose Li Mo. He thought that Li Mo had been cautious these past few days, and that nothing would happen if she was with Yu Xiaoyu. But he never expected that Yu Xiaoyu’s words would be much sharper than he had imagined.

“I sent Li Mo over, not Teacher Li.”

Yu Xiaoyu was slightly surprised, but she was always self-centered, and even if she was wrong, she would stubbornly insist that she was right.

“I’m doing this for your own good. I’m only speaking up for you because I care about you.”

Yan Qingchi chuckled.

Yu Xiaoyu glared at him. “What are you laughing at?”

“Nothing,” Yan Qingchi said, “I just find the reason ridiculous.”

“You…”

Yu Xiaoyu didn’t finish her sentence because Jiang Mochen interrupted her.

“What gives you the right to speak up for me?” Jiang Mochen asked her. “What injustice have I suffered that requires your help?”

“Yu Xiaoyu, Teacher Li and I are old acquaintances. He took care of me, and I respect him, so I’m willing to help him. It has nothing to do with his age; it’s just because we know each other. I don’t know you well. You don’t even understand my social circle. What right do you have to criticize my friends under the guise of doing what’s best for me?”

Yu Xiaoyu remained silent.

Jiang Mochen continued, “Since you’ve brought up age, as a senior in the industry, let me teach you a thing or two. I don’t know which company you’re with, but since we’re all in this industry, we should learn to respect each other. At your age, you might not have heard of Teacher Li, but when he was acting, you were probably nowhere to be found. In terms of seniority, he’s older than you. Being in this industry, you should respectfully address him as ‘senior.’ Even I always call him ‘teacher.’ In terms of age, he’s older than you; you’re the junior, so you should call him ‘uncle.’ Don’t go around shouting a few words you’ve learned. You’re so young; you don’t want to ruin your career with your words and actions, do you?”

Hearing this, Yu Xiaoyu’s eyes welled up with tears. She felt that Jiang Mochen had betrayed her good intentions and made her a laughingstock.

She turned and ran out of the kitchen, crying.

Mo Xiaoxiao, Zhang Ningwei, and Yue Ziming were peeling fruit in the living room when they saw her like this and rushed upstairs. They looked at each other, somewhat bewildered. “What’s wrong with her?”

“Was there an argument in the kitchen just now?” Yue Ziming asked.

“It sounded a bit noisy,” Zhang Ningwei said.

Mo Xiaoxiao scratched her head. “Should we go check on her?”

“Check the kitchen or Yu Xiaoyu?” Zhang Ningwei asked her.

Mo Xiaoxiao looked at Yue Ziming. “Are you going to check on Yu Xiaoyu? You share a room with her.”

Yue Ziming looked worried. She had just finished comforting Fei Jingyu and didn’t have the energy to comfort someone else, and besides, she didn’t like Yu Xiaoyu.

“Aren’t you going?” Zhang Ningwei asked her.

Yue Ziming shook her head. “Last night we were assigned rooms, two of us to one. I suggested Li Mo could sleep with you guys first, and then switch to our room tonight, that would be fairer. But she wasn’t very willing. She said a lot of unpleasant things to me after we got back, and we were both a little upset in the end. This morning, she kept saying she’s used to sleeping alone, and having to share a room with someone else is torture for her. She didn’t sleep well at all and said she has a stiff neck.”
