Yan Qingchi felt he hadn’t encountered anyone speaking to him like this in a long time. Who was it last time? Liao Sibao? He couldn’t help but sigh, thinking to himself, why do these guys always think they’re invincible just because they’ve learned something? Aren’t they afraid of biting off more than they can chew before they speak?

Jiang Mochen listened to Fei Jingyu’s words and sneered, “It’s true that everyone has their own expertise, but it’s best to do your research before you speak. Aren’t you a professional? Qingchi is a professional too.”

Fei Jingyu was stunned, looking at Yan Qingchi in disbelief.

Yan Qingchi waved his hand, stating truthfully, “Brother Chen, you flatter me. I’m not a professional; I just draw for fun, it’s amateurish.”

Fei Jingyu’s expression softened a bit. “I see.”

Yan Qingchi smiled. “However, I’m quite interested in this kind of competition.” He turned to Li Mo. “You want to go to the bar over here, right? I’ll try to see if I can get a free ticket.”

Li Mo’s eyes lit up instantly, filled with admiration. “Brother, you can draw too! Brother, you’re amazing!”

“But I’m not sure I can win.”

“I know, top students always say I haven’t studied well before exams and that I probably didn’t do well, but when the results come out, they would be number one in the grade again.”

Jiang Mochen chuckled softly, looking at her. “You’re quite the little devil.”

Fei Jingyu looked at the three of them, inwardly scoffing. He didn’t even know how good his drawing was, and Li Mo was already bragging. Top student? Someone like Yan Qingchi didn’t seem to fit that description at all. Li Mo was so eager to curry favor with him just because he was famous.

He looked at Yan Qingchi and smiled, “Didn’t Brother Yan say he wanted to give it a try? Then go ahead, it’ll help our little sister Li Mo fulfil her wish.”

Li Mo couldn’t stand his sarcastic remarks and asked him, “If Brother Qingchi wins, we’ll go to the bar. Are you coming?”

Seeing her say that, Li Bozhong quickly smoothed things over, “Of course he’ll go, we’re together.”

Fei Jingyu didn’t believe Yan Qingchi would win, “Let’s wait until he wins.”

Yan Qingchi chuckled, turned to look at him, “Then you’d better start thinking about that now.”

After he finished speaking, he walked out and approached a young artist near them, politely asking if he could participate in the competition and how.

The young artist said “of course,” then he pointed to a slightly chubby blond man with a beer belly in the crowd and told him that the man was the bar owner, and he just needed to say hello to him.

Yan Qingchi thanked the bar owner, walked over to greet him, and expressed his desire to participate in the painting competition.

The bar owner was very enthusiastic; seeing a newcomer, especially a foreigner, he readily agreed, fetching a drawing board, paper, and pens for him. He then turned to the people around him and asked who would be willing to model for this handsome young foreigner.

Immediately, a blonde, blue-eyed young woman stepped forward. She was very beautiful, with bright eyes and white teeth; her platinum-gold wavy hair shone like honey-amber in the sunlight. The girl seemed to like Yan Qingchi very much, telling him she would be happy to model for him while winking at him with a flirtatious glance.

Li Mo looked at her, grabbed her father, and exclaimed “Ah ah!” twice. “This young lady is so pretty! Does she like Qingchi? Was she just flirting with him? Oh my god, what a romantic encounter in a foreign land! The brother’s good looks are definitely on full display today!”

Mo Xiaoxiao turned to look at her, nudged her, and whispered, “Are you a fan of Yan-ge?”

She had always found it strange that among so many boys in their group, Li Mo only called Yan Qingchi and Jiang Mochen “brother,” while everyone else was addressed by their surname followed by “brother.” It wasn’t until Li Mo uttered that classic fan-circle phrase that Mo Xiaoxiao realized— was it because she was a fan of Yan Qingchi and Jiang Mochen that she treated her idols differently?

Li Mo nodded. “Yes, I was a fan of Brother Mochen first, and then after watching ‘Lost,’ I became a fan of Brother Qingchi as well.”

“No wonder you always call them ‘brother,’ unlike how you address others,”

Li Mo said with a grin. “That’s what I usually call them online. I’m used to it. Besides, I’m younger than them, so I can still call them that. If I were their age, I’d feel embarrassed.”

Mo Xiaoxiao looked at her. “Then you must have had a lot of fun recording this show.”

“Yeah, super fun.”

But Jiang Mochen, sitting next to them, wasn’t so happy. Jiang Mochen watched Yan Qingchi sit on the bench and start drawing. The blonde beauty in front of him had her hands slightly resting on her chin, making a heart shape. Jiang Mochen found it incredibly annoying. He should have gone with Yan Qingchi earlier! That way, he could have been a model! Come to think of it, Yan Qingchi hadn’t even drawn him yet. How come his first portrait was drawn for someone else like this!

Jiang Mochen grew increasingly frustrated at this thought. Looking at the blonde beauty smiling sweetly in the distance, oblivious to everything, he felt a surge of anger, wishing he could simply take her place.

Yan Qingchi, however, didn’t have such extraneous thoughts; his mind was entirely focused on his drawing. While Jiang Mochen and the black man were discussing the situation, he had already observed everyone’s drawings from afar, noting that they were all sketches.

This wasn’t difficult; he could simply draw it the way he had sketched before, except that speed wasn’t required, allowing him to be more detailed.

Because of his previous sketching experience, he had captured the characteristics of the figures very accurately, unlike other artists who frequently looked up at their models. He only needed to glance at them a few times to draw based on his impressions.

Yan Qingchi quickly completed the basic outline, added some details based on the girl in front of him, and then put down his brush. He handed the painting to the girl in front of him and asked, “Do you think it looks like you?”

The girl took the painting, looked at herself in it, and couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise. The woman in the painting not only looked remarkably like herself in figure and appearance, but also appeared very confident and enthusiastic, even with a touch of coquettishness in her blinking. She was very satisfied, nodding repeatedly and praising Yan Qingchi’s painting.

The girl was very honest, saying that she had only posed as his model because she thought he was handsome, but now, seeing this painting, she felt like she had hit the jackpot. She pulled Yan Qingchi to the bar owner, handed him the painting, and asked if it looked like her.

The owner looked at it and thought it did look like her, and since the person in the drawing thought so too, he waved his hand and patted Yan Qingchi on the shoulder, saying, “Hey, bro, congratulations on winning a free drink.”

The blonde beauty, holding her painting, asked Yan Qingchi if she could buy it; she wanted to take it back to show her classmates.

The shopkeeper chimed in with praise, “You must study this, right? Your drawings are so professional. Not only are the shapes and appearances accurate, but the figures also look very lifelike. You’re much better than those poor students selling paintings on the street corner; they even boast that they’re professionals.”

Yan Qingchi waved his hands repeatedly, saying no, he just enjoyed drawing in his spare time. This wasn’t exactly modesty; he hadn’t attended any professional art classes. His practice with a teacher was only due to the requirements of his position at the time. He hadn’t participated in any art competitions; he just doodled in his spare time to amuse his adoptive mother and younger brother.

The blonde beauty ultimately bought the painting for a single coin, feeling it was too cheap. However, Yan Qingchi argued that it was just a game, and being too concerned about money would diminish the enjoyment of painting itself.

The bartender shared this sentiment, so he patted Yan Qingchi on the shoulder and invited him to his bar for drinks. Yan Qingchi asked, “I’m with friends, can I bring them along?”

The bartender generously agreed, saying that more people meant more fun.

So Yan Qingchi led the bartender to their group. The bartender looked at the men and women in front of him, then turned to Yan Qingchi. Yan Qingchi felt a little guilty, afraid the bartender would think he had too many friends and take back his earlier statement.

However, the bartender simply exclaimed in surprise, “Friend, your friends are all as good-looking as you!”

He quickly noticed the camera and the production crew, realizing that they were filming a program. He exclaimed in surprise, waved at the camera, and unceremoniously introduced his bar before declaring, “Come on, I’ll take you for drinks.”

Yan Qingchi was thrilled and unconsciously grabbed Jiang Mochen, “Let’s go.”

The others quickly followed.

Fei Jingyu was a little annoyed and didn’t want to go, but Yue Ziming tugged at him, “Let’s go, everyone’s going.”

“What’s the point of going?” he retorted.

Yue Ziming thought he was probably unhappy because he thought Yan Qingchi definitely wouldn’t win, but Yan Qingchi did. So she gently persuaded him, “It’s a good thing that Brother Yan won, we can go check out the bars around here. Besides, Brother Yan himself said he’s just an amateur. If you two really competed, you’d definitely be better, it’s just that you didn’t paint just now.”

Fei Jingyu looked at her and said coldly, “I’m not like him, how could I paint in a place like this, lowering my status?”

Yue Ziming didn’t quite agree with him. She thought Yan Qingchi was right, many things are just about interest, everyone’s just having fun, why confine yourself to rules and regulations. Besides, even if you don’t like it, you just need to stick to it yourself. Why deny other people’s actions? You are not a fish, how can you know the fish’s joy?

However, she was always used to obeying Fei Jingyu, so she just nodded and urged him, “Let’s hurry up and catch up.”

As she spoke, Li Bozhong turned around and came to find the two of them. “Why are you still here? Hurry up.”

Yue Ziming nodded repeatedly. “We’ll catch up right away, thank you, Teacher Li.”

Li Bozhong smiled and said, “It’s nothing, it’s nothing, let’s go.”

Fei Jingyu glanced at the cameraman beside him and thought, forget it. If he really didn’t go, who knows how the production team would edit it? So he had no choice but to follow.

When Li Mo saw him catch up, she turned her head and whispered, “I thought you were so ambitious. If you’re so capable, don’t come.”
