Lu Jiangyuan…

The owner of Huayao came in person.

Some of the trainees didn’t actually know Lu Jiangyuan. He was very famous, but he always kept a low profile.

Everyone knew that Huayao’s boss was a bachelor, but there were no official photos of him. There was only one picture in a news report, and nobody bothered to look for it.

Then one of the students asked, “Who is that?”

They were naturally curious, as the director wouldn’t normally be so shameless as to stand by and smile obsequiously.

Sheng Ziyou pulled Feng Yuanxuan, who was passing by and heading towards the director, and whispered a reminder: “That’s the boss of the Lu Group. Huayao belongs to the Lu Group.”

Feng Yuanxuan stared at Sheng Ziyou in shock. He, a nobody who hadn’t even debuted yet, needed the boss of Huayao to come over?!

But he knew that Sheng Ziyou wouldn’t lie to him.

Feng Yuanxuan became even more uneasy and walked over there with a bewildered look on his face.

None of the trainees went into the practice room; they were all waiting to see what would happen, watching Feng Yuanxuan walk up to Lu Jiangyuan.

“Feng Yuanxuan?” Lu Jiangyuan actually knew this person; he had seen him on a boy band program.

Although he didn’t pay much attention to the students, he always took a second look at those who talked to Sheng Ziyou.

He remained expressionless, but his eyes carefully scanned Feng Yuanxuan. Feng Yuanxuan was quite good-looking and had some popularity at school.

But in the entertainment industry, in this boy band of young men, he was only of average appearance.

Most importantly, this person looked unremarkable and too laid-back, not like the kind of student who would… flirt with the mentor.

Seeing it with his own eyes, Lu Jiangyuan breathed a sigh of relief.

This wasn’t the kind of flavor that Sheng Ziyou liked.

To determine how much Lu Jiangyuan knew about Sheng Ziyou, one only needed to look at what she told Assistant Gao and Secretary Ning when she was drunk.

He suddenly remembered asking her that year, “Why are you working so hard? You’ve already retired from the entertainment industry, what’s the point of making so much money?”

She said at the time, “No rush. I’ll stop working when I’m too tired to work anymore.”

He then asked, “What’s the point of all this working hard?”

She laughed and said, “Who knows? Maybe I’ll raise a handsome young man, watch him radiate energy every day, and sit there waiting for someone to say nice things to me.”

She was just thirty that year, while he was already thirty-five.

He was no longer a heartthrob, nor was he young anymore.

Even though he secretly practiced how to “coax” her behind her back, and memorized all 99 sweet words, he never dared to say them to her.

I’m younger now than I was back then, but my mental state is even more terrifying.

Lu Jiangyuan knew that he only had this still relatively young body and an old heart, and he could not compare with these young people.

He only felt alive when he saw her.

After Sheng Ziyou’s car accident…

Lu Jiangyuan shook his head, trying not to let his thoughts return to that painful memory.

He looked up and saw Sheng Ziyou in the crowd.

Behind her was a group of young, energetic boys, full of vitality, who could say sweet things to make her happy…

Just then, Ji Ran stepped forward and whispered to Sheng Ziyou, “Teacher Sheng, Feng Yuanxuan will be your junior brother from now on. I’m so envious…”

Sheng Ziyou turned her head and asked him with a smile, “What are you envious of? You signed with a big company too.”

Ji Ran pouted: “This is different.”

“Sheng Ziyou—” Lu Jiangyuan’s deep voice suddenly rang out from afar, sounding unusually urgent, but thankfully it was not very noticeable.

He didn’t know what the two were talking about, but their “intimate” way of interacting was uncomfortable to watch.

Sheng Ziyou was taken aback, and Feng Yuanxuan, who was next to Lu Jiangyuan, was also slightly stunned.

“You’re from Huayao too, come here for a second,” Lu Jiangyuan added, as an explanation.

Zheng Jiaoqian: “…” Am I no longer from Huayao?!

This wasn’t Lu Jiangyuan’s fault; he genuinely didn’t notice Zheng Jiaoqian, his eyes were only on Sheng Ziyou… and the boy who had just spoken to her.

Ji Ran.

Lu Jiangyuan didn’t like him.

This boy perfectly matched Sheng Ziyou’s aesthetic.

That’s how it was in her past life; almost every requirement she had for her future partner matched Ji Ran’s conditions.

As a result, in his previous life, Lu Jiangyuan tried every possible way to avoid contact between Sheng Ziyou and Ji Ran.

But in this different world, the two became mentor and student.

Lu Jiangyuan looked at Ji Ran with deep apprehension.

Ji Ran shuddered, and after Sheng Ziyou walked over there, he said to Gu Yuzheng, “Why do I feel like the boss of Huayao just glanced at me?”

“Why would he be looking at you?” Gu Yuzheng asked in surprise.

Ji Ran was also completely bewildered, but he thought, surely someone as important as Lu Jiangyuan couldn’t possibly know him?

So he shook his head and said, “Never mind, I must have been mistaken. Let’s go in, we can practice again.”

“Okay.” Gu Yuzheng’s group went in, ready to continue practicing.

Zheng Jiaoqian’s eyes were still on Lu Jiangyuan’s side. Then after thinking for a moment, she gritted her teeth and stepped forward.

“What’s wrong?” Sheng Ziyou walked over with a bewildered look and asked Lu Jiangyuan.

“You recommended this person, let’s go together.” Lu Jiangyuan said calmly. There was an agent standing next to him. Sheng Ziyou smiled and nodded at him, and the agent returned the smile.

This agent, Sheng Ziyou recognized, wasn’t particularly famous, but he specialized in managing newcomers and had a knack for it.

The stars under him only went to work for another agent after they had gained some fame under his management.

Sheng Ziyou nodded, which was her response to Lu Jiangyuan’s earlier statement.

“President Lu!” Zheng Jiaoqian called out softly with a slight smile.

Lu Jiangyuan frowned: “What are you doing here?”

Zheng Jiaoqian: “…”

The smile on her face vanished instantly. So, she had been standing there for so long, and Lu Jiangyuan hadn’t even seen her?!

Zheng Jiaoqian gritted her teeth in anger, but still smiled and said, “President Lu, I am also a guest from the boy group selection competition program.”

Lu Jiangyuan didn’t speak or pay any more attention to her. Instead, he looked at Sheng Ziyou and said, “Let’s go.”

He then turned around and shook hands with the director in a fairly polite manner before leaving.

Sheng Ziyou, Feng Yuanxuan, along with their agent and special assistant Gao, followed Lu Jiangyuan and turned to walk in another direction.

Zheng Jiaoqian stood there with a smile on her face, almost grinding her teeth to powder.

She could feel the mocking looks from those around her, especially from Wen Shanshan! Even from this distance, she could sense her schadenfreude!

This was the first time Zheng Jiaoqian felt somewhat annoyed that Lu Jiangyuan didn’t give her any face, not even for the sake of his mother.

Teahouse.

For some reason, even though there were five people in total, Assistant Gao disappeared the moment they entered the room.

After that, only four people entered the private room of the teahouse. Lu Jiangyuan pulled out a chair and uttered a single word to Sheng Ziyou: “Sit.”

After Sheng Ziyou sat down with a blank expression, Lu Jiangyuan sat down next to her.

Opposite them were Feng Yuanxuan, who looked rather reserved, and Huayao’s agent.

Sheng Ziyou didn’t know how Lu Jiangyuan and the others found this teahouse. The teahouse was located in a rather remote area, but it wasn’t too far from the production crew’s location.

But once inside, there was only one owner busy at the teahouse, who kept his eyes straight ahead, served the tea, and then left immediately.

Perhaps because of the time of day, there was no one else in the teahouse besides them.

“This place is quite nice,” Sheng Ziyou said, taking off her mask.

She was just sighing, but little did she know that Lu Jiangyuan would reply seriously: “Assistant Gao found it in advance. He knows the owner of this place and has booked the entire teahouse. No one else will be coming.”

Sheng Ziyou didn’t say anything, just nodded.

Across from them, the agent looked at Lu Jiangyuan, and only after the other party nodded did he shift his gaze to Feng Yuanxuan.

The first thing he said was—

“Our company rarely signs artists like you.”

Feng Yuanxuan was a little embarrassed, his fingers unconsciously tapping on the cup, showing that he was very nervous.

“Besides, you’re currently embroiled in trouble and there’s no guarantee you’ll debut. Signing you with an artist contract would actually be a huge loss for you,” the manager added.

Feng Yuanxuan became even more nervous, even somewhat flustered.

His gaze unconsciously drifted to Sheng Ziyou, who returned a relaxed smile, making Feng Yuanxuan feel a little better.

Sheng Ziyou chuckled and shook her head. In her original world, she was just as nervous as Feng Yuanxuan when she signed her first contract.

But once you become an agent, you’ll realize that the reason someone is willing to say so much is because they really want to sign the client.

First, they would strike a blow at Feng Yuanxuan, and then they would offer the benefits they could.

This way, the management company can get the maximum benefit, and the artist is also satisfied.

The agent continued, “So signing you with an artist contract would truly be a huge investment for the company…”

Across from them, the two began to discuss the contract and its terms.

Huayao was a talent agency and not a charity, so the terms given to Feng Yuanxuan were naturally not the kind of benefits that well-known artists could receive.

But it didn’t cheat him; it was a fairly friendly contract for newcomers.
