The hovercar sped towards Huacheng.

As it entered the city and the bustling, modern metropolis came into view, everyone crowded to the windows, marvelling at its grandeur.

Planet D-312 was renowned as a star of military academies. Initially, due to its vast land and sparse population, facilitating training, the Imperial First Comprehensive Military Academy established its base there.

Over the next century, the population grew, gradually forming miniature cities. Each city radiated outwards from its respective military academy.

It could be said that the empire’s people’s basic needs— food, clothing, shelter, and all economic and political activities— depended on these military academies.

Of all the cities, Huacheng was the most prosperous and vibrant. The legendary Imperial First Comprehensive Military Academy was located right in the heart of this city.

It was said that the first thing the people of Huacheng did every morning was to open their windows and worship the symbol of “Imperial First,” hoping for a smooth and successful day.

Lu Ke, pressed against the window, said with a hint of envy, “It must be easy for people here to get into military academies.”

“The difficulty is the same everywhere,” someone replied. “However, it’s true that it’s easier to meet powerful figures in the military.”

That was something to envy too.

Lu Ke bit his handkerchief, filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment.

Just then, a dark shadow flashed past his eyes. It almost skimmed the windowpane.

Lu Ke was startled, thinking he was seeing things, and rubbed his eyes. But when he opened them again, even more dark shadows flew past.

He jumped back in fright, grabbing Bai Yue’s collar: “What… what’s going on? People are flying in the sky!?”

Hearing this, Bai Yue also looked out the window.

It wasn’t an exaggeration on Lu Ke’s part; several figures were indeed flying forward at lightning speed, almost faster than the hovercars!

They were either on skateboards or rollerblading. The ground, the roof of the car, and the walls were all their paths.

These people were agile, but wearing masks, making their identities impossible to discern. Their dangerous stunts and high-difficulty maneuvers drew gasps of amazement from passersby wherever they went.

Ignoring the spectacle they were making, they traced a beautiful parabola across the sky.

Soon, they vanished from the students’ sight. Everyone was speechless.

After realizing they weren’t ghosts, Lu Ke returned to the window: “Why… why can they fly?”

But this time, no one could answer him. They were all new students, unfamiliar with the situation.

Bai Yue: “I think it’s because they used military equipment.”

“Military equipment?” Lu Ke was bewildered.

Bai Yue was referring to skateboards and roller skates. He had seen documentaries where soldiers used props to complete tasks. However, the props used by those soldiers were much more legitimate-looking than these.

“That’s right, military equipment.”

Perhaps having heard Bai Yue’s words, the senior student in the pilot’s seat said without turning her head, “Once you enrol, you can exchange them for military merits. You can even find someone to modify them into your preferred style.”

Hearing this, everyone became excited. Although you can fly while sitting in a car, how cool would it be to soar through the air and dive into the ground like those people just now!

But the next second, the senior student poured cold water on their enthusiasm.

“According to regulations, military supplies can only be used on campus. You need permission to take them out.”

Lu Ke asked, puzzled, “But what about those people?”

“Those guys…” the senior student said with a forced smile, “They’re just a bunch of crazy people who don’t follow school rules.”

Everyone: ???

It sounded like they had some deep-seated grudge.

Half an hour later, the hovercar slowly came to a stop.

It had now entered the Imperial First Comprehensive Military Academy. Most of the pedestrians outside were students in uniform. So they seemed unsurprised to see the hovercar enter.

“The exam location for tomorrow is at Imperial First,” the senior student explained. “Our school has arranged temporary dormitories, and dinner will be provided. You should rest early tonight and not wander around.”

By this time, the sun was already setting, and the sky was getting slightly dark.

The “temporary dormitories” were located on the outermost edge of the Imperial First Comprehensive Military Academy. Besides being provided to examinees during exams, they were usually occupied by preparatory students.

After giving some important instructions, the senior student left. She hadn’t finished her work for the day.

So, about fifty people were left alone at the school gate.

They looked at each other blankly. After a while, some people picked up their luggage and headed towards the dormitory.

“Let’s go put our luggage down too,” Lu Ke said. “We’ll meet up later, then I want to explore ‘Imperial First’!”

After all, he wasn’t a direct admission student to Imperial First, and although he was very tired after a day’s journey, it wouldn’t be so easy to get in later if he missed this opportunity.

Bai Yue, since differentiating into an alpha, had abundant stamina. He didn’t feel tired at this moment and accepted the invitation.

There was someone registering at the dormitory entrance, and names had to be matched to enter. The rooms were for four people each. When Bai Yue went in, there was no one inside.

He put down his luggage and first contacted his parents. Then he found Shang Yufei’s contact information.

Now that the Empire’s network covered the entire star system, there was no need to worry about communication problems even after a time jump. It was just temporarily unusable while on the airship.

However, when he dialled the number, he heard a busy tone on the other end.

No time?

Bai Yue thought for a moment and sent Shang Yufei a text message informing him that he had arrived at the military academy.

The agreed-upon time with Lu Ke was five minutes later. Having nothing else to do, Bai Yue went down to the lobby early. He found Lu Ke already waiting at the main gate. Upon seeing him, Lu Ke waved excitedly.

Bai Yue noticed a small camera hanging around Lu Ke’s neck.

Lu Ke held up the camera, boasting, “I’ve only ever seen it on TV before. This time I’m going to take a picture in ‘Imperial First’ and send it to my grandma!”

However, his excitement shattered ten minutes later.

Since neither of them were official students at Imperial First, they were stopped at the next inner gate.

The only area they, as examinees, could go was around the temporary dormitories. All they could photograph were the school gate and some flowers and plants.

Lu Ke’s face thus wilted like a frozen eggplant.

Bai Yue thought for a moment, “I’ll figure out a way to get you in after I enrol.”

Lu Ke immediately perked up, “Really!”

Then he shook his head, “Never mind. I feel like the rules at Imperial First School are pretty strict. I don’t know if outsiders can get in, and it wouldn’t be good if it caused you trouble.”

Bai Yue was about to say something when they heard a commotion at the school gate.

The two looked in the direction of the sound and saw that another hovercar had arrived, its appearance extremely similar to the one they had just ridden in.

Lu Ke understood, “Another group of examinees has arrived.”

As the car door opened, the group of examinees filed out. When they finally saw the Imperial First Comprehensive Military Academy they had longed for, their expressions of surprise and delight were exactly the same as Lu Ke’s had been.

Although this was a side gate, not as imposing as the main gate, they had finally stepped inside— the military academy that the people of the empire dreamed of!

Despite arriving only half an hour early, Lu Ke still adopted a senior’s demeanor: “So young.”

Then, his face fell: “They’ll be crying in a minute.”

Bai Yue shook his head: “Let’s go eat first.”

Lu Ke didn’t say anything more. The two turned and went back to their dormitories together.

A little while later, the other group of examinees also surged towards the dormitories.

However, compared to the disintegration of Bai Yue’s group, this group of dozens of people seemed to be very close. Their conversation was like that of best friends who had known each other for over a decade.

“If it weren’t for you, I think we would all have been wiped out. You’re really something!”

“Although I’m not from Imperial First, it’s fate that we were on the same flight. Even if we go our separate ways later, don’t forget about us good buddies!”

“Hey, are you free later? If not, let’s grab a bite together. It’s a rare treat to come to Huacheng, so let’s skip the dorm food and go out for a meal!”

“Yeah, everyone on the airship got through thanks to you. You have to give us face, Du Qin.”

When he heard the last name, Bai Yue paused.

“That’s true.” The person named “Du Qin” smiled, “Then let’s go.”

The entire student exclaimed in surprise.

Lu Ke saw Bai Yue suddenly stop, and asked somewhat puzzled: “What’s wrong?”

The group of students behind him were getting closer and closer. Bai Yue turned around and found that the alpha surrounded by dozens of people looked very familiar.

Even after taking off the uniform of Luohua Academy, his temperament remained unchanged. He wore glasses on the bridge of his nose, and a faint smile appeared on his lips. It seemed that he was destined to be the focus of attention from birth.

It wasn’t a coincidence of similar pronunciations. The person who arrived was indeed Du Qin, Bai Yue’s former class monitor.

Back at Luohua Academy, Du Qin had attracted attention throughout the entire grade with his top grades. He also had considerable credibility and influence among teachers and classmates due to his frequent participation in student council activities.

However, after Bai Yue’s genetic level was revealed, the class monitor became much more low-key. He stopped participating in student council activities and left the academy after class every day.

So Bai Yue rarely saw him like this anymore.

Du Qin also clearly saw him, and their eyes met.

One side was just the two of them alone, while the other side was bustling with activity.

Du Qin’s glasses flashed white light, and he quickly looked away, continuing to talk to the students surrounding him.

The two brushed past each other. Despite being classmates for three years, they seemed like complete strangers, without exchanging a single word.

It wasn’t until this large group of people poured into the dormitory that the surroundings finally quieted down.

The afterglow of the setting sun fell on the wide lawn, and the green grass swayed gently in the wind.

Lu Ke noticed Bai Yue staring at the group and peered over, asking, “What’s wrong with them? Do you know them?”

Bai Yue replied, “One of them was my former class monitor.”

“Huh! A classmate?!” Lu Ke exclaimed in surprise. “Why didn’t you say hello? It’s rare for you both to come to military academies.”

Lu Ke had enjoyed high school. He attended an omega-focused academy where everyone got along well, so he couldn’t understand why the two seemed so distant.

Lu Ke cautiously asked, “You two don’t get along?”

Bai Yue shook his head.

Rather than saying they didn’t get along, it was more accurate to say that the class monitor’s attitude had become strange after his genetic level was revealed.

Jealousy. Or perhaps… hostility.

If he could, he would like to be on good terms with the class monitor. But for some reason, the other party seemed to see him as a potential enemy.

The dormitory provided a simple dinner: rice, a dish, and soup. There weren’t many people in the cafeteria; it seemed most had gone to restaurants around campus to feast.

However, Bai Yue didn’t have much money, so he had to be frugal.

After dinner, Lu Ke, deeply shaken, lost all interest in wandering around and returned to his room early.

Bai Yue also went to his room first. When he opened the door, he couldn’t help but pause in surprise.

The other three students besides him were already there. A faint scent of alphas filled the air.

Only now did Bai Yue truly realize that he might be sharing a dormitory with alphas in the future.

So far, most of his friends were omegas. And the alphas he interacted with most were Shang Yufei and his younger brother.

One of the alphas was changing clothes. Seeing him come in, he froze and abruptly pulled up his pants.

“What are you doing! The omega’s dormitory is on the other side!”

Bai Yue glanced at his luggage on the bed and went in.

“Excuse me, is your boyfriend staying here?” someone asked. “The person in this bed hasn’t come back yet, why don’t you come back later?”

“Let him stay if he wants to.” Another person was very enthusiastic. “Excuse me, if you’re thirsty or hungry, just tell me, I brought a lot of local specialties.”

Bai Yue smiled at them but didn’t reply. He then opened his suitcase and took out a coat.

Turning to the three, he said, “I’m an alpha.”

His words were like a bombshell. The three were completely stunned. Even as Bai Yue turned and left, he was still in shock.

This person, even more handsome than an omega, was actually an alpha?!

This world was so unreal.
