Looking at the closed door, Luo Mi threw himself onto the sofa with mixed feelings.
Actually, before helping Anos disguise himself, Luo Mi planned to go with Anos— he was also a little curious about the complete story of Anos’s background; but after Anos successfully disguised himself, Luo Mi became timid.
He always felt like if he stayed by Anos’s side, he would never know when he would be hacked and his account would be compromised.
Perhaps when Anos returned tonight, he would be a completely corrupted version… Luo Mi’s feelings were somewhat complicated on this thought.
The system, which hadn’t been very active lately, asked:
What is the host thinking?
Luo Mi had no motivation to argue with the system today, and sighed, “I was thinking, maybe it would be better to just sleep with Anos, at least Anos wouldn’t have to face all this…”
[These are the settings for the Holy Son; even if the host didn’t expose it, someone else will.]
“That’s what they say… Sigh.” Luo Mi chuckled self-deprecatingly. “I’m starting to not want to stay in this world anymore. I hope they’ll judge my mission as complete soon.”
The system encountered some unexpected issues:
[There are still a few side quests the host hasn’t completed. These points can be exchanged for useful functions when the host returns to Earth.]
Luo Mi rubbed his chest and silently sighed, “If I stay any longer, I feel like I’ll change too.”
Looking at Anos’s face, he had felt his heart pounding and a surge of bittersweet emotions several times over. It was completely different from the intense possessiveness he felt for Anos after drinking the Green Heart, making Luo Mi feel uneasy.
He instinctively feared the consequences of being overwhelmed by this tide.
If he could leave this world quickly, leave Anos’s side, he might be able to escape this tide… Luo Mi pursed his lips, and for the first time felt the urge to pray to the gods who might exist in this world.
Of course, it was just an impulse.
If God truly existed, He would surely send down His holy light to purify this demon, who, in every respect, was an enemy of God’s glory.
Luo Mi sighed for the umpteenth time and stood up.
Anos hadn’t returned yet, and he was already getting sleepy.
Upon entering his room, Luo Mi abruptly stopped.
Inside he saw dark wings drooping down, covering the bed, their soft glow appearing faintly in the quiet night.
A man with light blond hair sat on the edge of the bed, his blood-red eyes unfathomable, a slight smile on his lips. His right leg was crossed over his left, a rather rough gesture, but it had a strange kind of beauty against his handsome face.
Luo Mi instinctively closed the door.
He calmed himself down before slowly opening it.
The smile on the man’s lips had vanished, replaced by a cold sneer: “What, you don’t want to see me?”
Luo Mi forced a smile: “How could that be? I just didn’t expect you to be here… uh, shouldn’t you be listening to the inside story revealed by Caroline II?”
“I’ve heard the important parts.” The demon Anos beckoned to him and said in an unquestionable tone, “Come here.”
Luo Mi initially wanted to refuse, but hesitated when he looked up.
Moonlight streamed in through the window, casting a half-shadow over the face of the demon Anos.
Perhaps it was just his imagination, but Luo Mi sensed that the Blackwing Lord seemed somewhat fragile. This made it impossible for him to refuse. So he slowly approached the other man and sat down amidst the black wings that covered the bed.
Those dark wings embraced him, all the while gently and affectionately brushing against his skin.
The face, identical to Anos’, was expressionless, calmly looking forward: “You did well this time.”
Luo Mi heard this sentence twice in a short period of time, and he was both amused and exasperated.
He glanced cautiously at the Blackwing Lord, and, adhering to the principle of “the more you say, the more mistakes you make; the less you say, the fewer mistakes you make; and if you say nothing, you make no mistakes,” he remained silent.
The Blackwing Lord didn’t speak either, just sat there quietly, lost in thought, letting his wings envelop Luo Mi.
After being enveloped by such thick feathered wings for a long time, Luo Mi started feeling a little hot. So he tried to move his body to make some room, but the wings only tightened their grip on him, until he almost couldn’t breathe.
As if startled awake, the demon Anos turned to look at him, his blood-red eyes fixed on him for a moment before he suddenly curled his lips into a smile: “Since you have completed my task, I will forgive your previous betrayal and reward you accordingly.”
Luo Mi’s heart suddenly started beating faster.
He swallowed hard, suppressing the surge of desire that welled up within him, and stammered, “Now…now? Ah…the other you could come back at any time…”
The demon Anos reached out and gently stroked Luo Mi’s blushing earlobe, smiling slightly: “Don’t worry.”
