Caught red-handed, Xiu Yue walked into the bedroom with a magnanimous air, greeting Si Ming and Zhuang Li with a smile.

“Si Ming, your grandfather will be angry if he sees you messing around with a man.” He said gently, “Your illness has worried your grandfather the most. He wants you to find a woman to marry as soon as possible and give birth to an heir for the Xiu and Si families. You know that, right?”

“What’s it to you? Even if you’re surnamed Xiu, you can’t take a single penny of the two families’ assets,” Si Ming retorted with a dark expression.

He had a short temper since his good time was interrupted; and if he hadn’t been holding his little curly-haired lover, he would have rushed over and started a fight long ago.

Xiu Yue’s expression remained unchanged, but his eyes turned cold as he shook his head and said, “If I were you, I couldn’t bear to make Grandpa sad.”

“Who are you calling grandpa? What do you have to do with the Si family? How can you be so shameless?” Si Ming pointed to the corridor outside the door and said sternly, “Get the hell out of here! Otherwise, I’ll have security throw you out in front of all the guests.”

Zhong Xingyun was right. Si Ming did have two faces. He was a docile little wolf in front of Zhuang Li, but a mad dog that bit when facing outsiders.

Xiu Yue knew Si Ming’s temper well, so he immediately raised his hands and slowly backed away. When he reached the door, he shrugged, shook his head, and showed his helplessness to the fullest extent, demonstrating his demeanor perfectly.

This was the scene that Old Master Si saw when he walked upstairs with his cane. All the guests had been kept in the banquet hall on the first floor.

Xiu Zhaotian took over the task of entertaining the guests very naturally, treating the Si family’s residence as his own territory.

“Grandpa, I’ll be going now.” Xiu Yue nodded slightly towards Old Master Si and left, his attitude neither humble nor arrogant, but graceful and generous.

He knew Si Ming was stubborn; once he made up his mind, nothing could change it. The grandfather and grandson were bound to argue, leading to a rift in their relationship. Si Ming was gay and unable to have children with a woman, so the old man’s last wish would be dashed, and the Si family would be left completely without an heir.

This was his and his father’s chance; even God was on their side. Thinking this, Xiu Yue shook his head and chuckled as he walked downstairs, then joined his father to greet the guests.

The father and son were so blinded by the readily available benefits that they completely failed to notice that Si Ming’s right hand was back to normal.

But Old Master Si would never overlook this detail. So he walked into the bedroom, looked at his grandson’s right hand, and, suppressing his excitement, asked, “You, your hand…”

“Grandpa.” Si Ming quickly stepped forward and helped the old man with his right hand.

Grandpa Si quickly grasped the hand, stroking it from fingertips to shoulder and back again, nodding repeatedly, his voice trembling: “Good, good, good, now Grandpa can die in peace! Grandpa isn’t dreaming, is he?”

“You’re not dreaming, please have a seat.” Zhuang Li walked to the other side and helped Old Master Si sit down.

Grandpa Si immediately grabbed Zhuang Li’s hand, tears streaming down his face, and said, “Good child, Grandpa has finally met you. I’ve been wanting to invite you to dinner for a while, but you’ve always been busy with your research in the lab and haven’t been able to find the time. Thank you so much, Grandpa is so grateful to you.”

Zhong Xingyun wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, stepped back a few paces, closed the door, and let the family of three sit down for a long talk.

….

Old Master Si had been upstairs for half an hour, and the guests were chatting and laughing around Xiu Zhaotian, but they were all speculating in their hearts.

There was probably already a big argument going on up there. They wondered whose son that boy was. He was really bold, daring to seduce the only grandson of the Si family. They also wondered if Old Master Si would skin that kid alive?

While they were pondering, they finally heard some noise from upstairs. The imagined argument, fight, and power struggle did not happen. Instead Grandpa Si, holding his grandson’s hand with his left hand and the boy’s hand with his right, happily came down the spiral staircase.

The guests, who were waiting to see a good show, were speechless. That’s it?

Xiu Zhaotian and Xiu Yue, who fully expected Old Master Si to have a heart attack from anger: “…”

Before he had even stepped off the stairs, Old Master Si waved to his old friends, his tone both excited and proud: “Come, come, let me introduce you. This is my grandson Si Ming, and this is my grandson-in-law Zhuang Li. They are both good boys. What do you think? Aren’t they handsome?”

“You look great, and both your children are so good-looking. Your grandson looks exactly like you when you were young.” Several respected elders walked over and chatted with them.

Everyone else stood rooted to the spot, watching this scene in utter shock. Had they heard correctly? Had Old Master Si just said that this man named Zhuang Li was his grandson-in-law? Grandson’s grandson, son-in-law’s son-in-law? Was this an acknowledgment of their relationship?

Xiu Zhaotian quickly realized what was happening and sighed, “Never mind, Si Ming is so sick, let him be with whomever he wants. I just wish him to live a happy life for the rest of his days.”

The surrounding guests then looked on with sudden realization and then looked at Si Ming with pity.

At the same time, several observant guests suddenly whispered, “Hey, didn’t we hear that Young Master Si’s right hand was completely paralyzed? How come he looks perfectly fine now?”

Upon closer inspection, everyone realized that Si Ming was shaking hands with several bigwigs one by one with his right hand, while his left hand was around the shoulder of the handsome young man. His spirited appearance did not resemble that of a terminally ill patient at all.

Xiu Zhaotian and Xiu Yue suddenly opened their eyes wide, only then realizing what was strange.

Unfortunately, by the time they tried to go over and take a closer look, Si Ming had already grabbed Zhuang Li’s hand, crossed the crowd, and run away, carrying a bunch of car keys in his hand.

Grandpa Si pointed at their retreating figures with his finger, scolding them but actually showering them with affection: “These young people, they’re so impatient. Oh well, let them be. They can’t stay home anyway.”

“We were the same when we were young,” an old man laughed heartily.

The other guests had no choice but to force smiles, but in their hearts, they looked down on Si Ming and Zhuang Li even more. This Si family might have to change their surname from now on!

Xiu Zhaotian walked up to Old Master Si, his expression showing a hint of hesitation.

Old Master Si didn’t even bother to glance at him, instead praising Zhuang Li to his old friends: “He’s a good kid, I’ve known him for a long time. Luckily, my Xiao Ming is capable enough to win him over, otherwise I’d always be feeling uneasy.” His words were full of respect and protection for Zhuang Li, without the slightest hint of dissatisfaction.

His old friends assumed he had something on his mind but couldn’t express it, so they tried their best to agree with him and cheer him up.

In fact, they had no idea who Zhuang Li was or what was so good about him.

The sycophants had already kept their distance from Old Master Si, their smiles tinged with mockery. They hadn’t expected the once-powerful Tiger Si to be so senile; his words sounded so fake and exaggerated, they were utterly disgusting. “Your grandson has a terminal illness and is still gay, aren’t you worried at all?”

All that talk about being generous and open-minded is just an act!

“It seems this family will have to rely on you from now on.” A guest pulled Xiu Zhaotian aside, shaking his head and sighing.

Xiu Zhaotian smiled wryly and waved his hand, signaling him not to say such things. Then he walked back to Old Master Si’s side and said gently, “Dad, you can’t just ignore Xiao Ming’s matter. Have you investigated what kind of background that Zhuang Li has? How can you entrust Xiao Ming to him? What if he has ulterior motives?”

“I know Xiao Li’s background better than you do.” Old Master Si glanced at Xiu Zhaotian with his hawk-like eyes, his pupils filled with murderous intent.
