Inside the Cathedral of Santa Cecilia, six people sat on three benches, with seven or eight others standing scattered behind them, all listening to the report from the Silver Knight standing in the center.

From left to right were the Pietist patriarch Archbishop Valentine, the secular cardinal of the Holy See, the earthly angels Anos and Luo Mi, Prince Grove of the Principality of Perde, and the captain of the palace guards.

Prince Grove had a beautifully trimmed mustache and looked somewhat like William II and Prince Ben. His expression was a little sleepy, but he was still trying to keep his eyes open and stay awake.

He was William II’s uncle, the younger brother of the previous king, and William II’s confidant. He came to negotiate on behalf of William II and the nobility of the principality.

The captain of the palace guards sitting next to him also represented the king’s will.

“The Black Wing Lord has set up a magic circle in the Perde Palace. Leveraging the nobles’ ‘lord’ status, he has gained control of the corresponding territories and forcibly extracted the negative energy of those within them. This negative energy is primarily composed of fear, resentment, and violence, with greed, lust, and depravity also accounting for a significant proportion.”

Reinhardt flipped a page in the report and continued, “Currently, those whose negative energy is being extracted will experience a three- to seven-day period of weakness, followed by a period of low or no desire for nearly a month. This manifests as a decrease in motivation for work and hobbies, leaving them in a daze. In severe cases, this can even affect their appetite and desire to survive.”

Archbishop Valentine nodded solemnly. “I will contact the bishops and have them hold Mass to restore normalcy to the civilian population.”

Anos now changed back into his normal black and white priest robe and sat calmly beside Luo Mi without expressing any opinion.

Reinhardt continued, “According to the information sent from the Holy City, the ‘Arrow of Decay’ shot by the Black Wing Lord was aimed northwest of Troon City, presumably towards the Alpha Empire’s capital, Sieg. However, St. Patrick’s Cathedral reported no magical fluctuations, leading to the suspicion that the Arrow of Decay ran out of energy mid-flight and vanished.”

Anos frowned slightly, but still said nothing.

“The real William II has been rescued and has recovered rapidly thanks to the blessing of Lord Valentine. All demons within the city of Troon, like the affected individuals, are in a state of low desire, without even the urge to flee. However, because the guards were also affected, the capture process is slow.”

Luo Mi couldn’t help but ask, “So, now the city of Troon, no, the entire Principality of Perde is in a state of disrepair?”

“…They will recover faster after drinking holy water and receiving blessings.” Reinhardt replied.

Reinhardt introduced some of the current situations in Troon City and finally closed the report.

Archbishop Valentine cleared his throat. “The ‘Noon Blood Moon’ incident can be characterized as a destructive act by the Demon Lord after he infiltrated the Light Realm. Fortunately, His Majesty the Angel happened to be there, preventing the Black Wing Lord from succeeding.”

Having said this, Archbishop Valentine paused before continuing.

“Of course, the most important factor in our ability to resolve this issue was the dedication of His Excellency Lian. He found a way to bring the instrument used by His Majesty the Angel out of the sealed cathedral, and he also found the core of the magic circle and destroyed it.”

Anos nodded slightly: “If it weren’t for Lian, the magic circle wouldn’t have been destroyed so quickly.”

They didn’t know whether the magic circle that absorbed negative energy would absorb life or soul after sucking out all the negative energy. Fortunately, it didn’t come to that.

Everyone’s eyes were on Luo Mi, filled with admiration, gratitude, and respect.

Luo Mi coughed twice, feeling both vain and embarrassed, and waved his hand: “I just did a small thing, and it’s all thanks to Anos.”

His wings, tail, and devil horns were hidden again, and even though he wore a priest’s clothes that didn’t fit him well, he had a somewhat sacred feeling of a clergyman.

Anos’s blue eyes fell on Luo Mi, and the corners of his lips curled slightly.

Prince Grove then said, “To thank His Royal Highness Anos and Lord Lian for their help, His Majesty the King has signed a gift of two manors with hunting grounds and vineyards. I hope you two will not mind.”

The servant brought over two contracts.

Luo Mi’s eyes lit up, but then he felt a little regretful: he probably wouldn’t be able to use the manor of the Principality of Perde.

Anos seemed to see through his thoughts and whispered, “Just sell it to the nobles here later.”

That makes sense, and you can make a lot of money! Luo Mi estimated the value of the manor and felt that he had suddenly become rich!

Before the meeting, Anos told him that the Vatican would also reward him, but it had not been decided yet.

Archbishop Valentine glanced at Anos, then looked at Prince Grove, who was sitting on the bench on the other side. “What is His Majesty’s opinion on the follow-up of this matter?”

Prince Grove had accepted Archbishop Valentine’s blessing and drunk the holy water, but he was still a little lazy and didn’t want to care about anything.

However, thinking of His Majesty’s order, Prince Grove yawned and said, “His Majesty wants to purify all demons in the principality, so he needs the help of the Holy See.”

Archbishop Valentine frowned: “There are not enough staff in the cathedrals.”

When the “Noon Blood Moon” occurred, only a few cathedrals in the entire Principality of Perde that had urgently deployed divine magic arrays were spared and did not fall into a state of low desire. These people were still busy making holy water to help nobles, troops, and civilians return to normal. How could they have the time to deal with the demons?

The pietists’ ideas and the lords’ caution meant that their numbers were never too large, and most of them were not in the church when the incident happened, so they were also in a state of low desire.

Prince Grove rubbed his brows. “This is another of our demands: He hopes to assign bishop-level clergy to every noble family to provide protection for the nobles.”

Archbishop Valentine keenly sensed something, his gray eyes fixed on Prince Grove, and he slowly said, “The increase in the number of bishop-level clergy requires the king’s review. This is the request of His Majesty the former king.”

“It’s different now.” Prince Grove actually did not quite agree with William II’s decision. He believed that this would lead to a threat to royal power posed by theocracy – but William II insisted on doing so, and the nobles were frightened by the demons they had previously ignored, so this decision was approved without much opposition.

But Archbishop Valentine, the patriarch of the Pietists, thought about it and shook his head: “There aren’t that many people who possess a pious heart, who can comprehend God’s will, and who can bear God’s power. Even if there were, it wouldn’t happen so quickly.”

It took time for an ordinary person to grow into a bishop!

At this time, the cardinal who was sitting on the other side of Anos and was leading the Vatican’s North-South Dialogue suddenly laughed: “The Pietists don’t have enough manpower, but the secularists do.”

Hearing this, Archbishop Valentine and Prince Grove looked over at the same time.

The Cardinal made a downward motion with his hand before explaining, “Don’t worry, we have no intention of taking advantage of the situation. The struggles between different factions are internal affairs of the Vatican. Facing the Demon Realm, we remain united. The Vatican has deliberately dispatched the Knights Templar and the Divine Legion to help the Principality of Perd cleanse the demons and heal the affected people. After resolving the issue, they will return to the Holy City.”

Prince Grove was somewhat moved by what he heard, but he was also quite skeptical – he didn’t believe that the secular faction of the Vatican would be so kind!

Archbishop Valentine pondered for a moment and asked, “If Your Majesty agrees, who will command the Knights Templar and the Divine Legion after they enter the Principality of Perde?”

“The command is under the leadership of His Excellency Stuart, Grand Master of the First Order of the Knights Templar,” the Cardinal said without hesitation. “Your Excellency Valentine, His Majesty the King, and His Excellency Stuart share the decision-making authority.”

Prince Grove pondered for a moment, looked at Archbishop Valentine, and quickly said, “I need to consult His Majesty the King.”

The Cardinal made a gesture of invitation.

Prince Grove glanced at the captain of the palace guards, who stood up and went to contact William II.

….

After a morning meeting, the Principality of Perde and the Holy See basically reached an agreement.

Luo Mi then threw himself into the sofa and murmured, “The meeting is so tiring. I should have not participated if I had known.”

Anos sat down opposite him, took off his gloves and placed them on the table: “I told you not to participate.”

“I was just curious about what happened.” Luo Mi turned over with great effort and looked at Anos. “You don’t seem very happy?”

Anos was stunned for a moment, then nodded, his expression slightly solemn: “I can feel that the Black Wing Lord is not dead.”

Luo Mi was not surprised by this – the demon Anos was in the dark and must have prepared many tricks. Even if he lost once, he would not die so easily.

His gaze paused on Anos’s face, and he asked tentatively, “Are you thinking about his identity?”

Anos nodded silently, then shook his head: “Perhaps it’s the devil’s inherent ability to deceive and bewitch, but it does bother me. I plan to investigate after returning to the Holy City.”

“Investigate what?”

“Investigate the records of various events before and after my birth. In addition, His Holiness the Pope’s great prophecy can trace the past and the future.” Anos said, “Of course, I will trouble His Holiness the Pope only at the last step.”

Luo Mi nodded.

Anos looked at Luo Mi with a warm gaze, and a smile unconsciously emerged on his face: “Thanks to you this time, I have always believed that you are God’s most devout believer and my closest friend. Sure enough, I was not wrong.”

Hearing that Anos was still defining himself as a “friend”, Luo Mi’s smile froze and he laughed dryly, “It’s all what I should do.”

Anos sat down next to Luo Mi, patted Luo Mi’s hand gently, and promised: “If you need any help, just ask, I will do it.”

——I want you to sleep with me!

Luo Mi’s words turned around in his head, but he didn’t say it out loud. He just held Anos’s hand tightly and said, “You said it.”

Anos laughed: “Of course.”

He seemed to have thought of something, and his expression quickly turned serious. “Also, I will help you investigate the matter of the alchemists’ laboratory found in the basement of Perde Palace.”

Luo Mi paused for a moment before remembering that among his own concoctions there was a “suspected alchemical product.” However, this was impossible to disprove, so he asked curiously, “What is that silver liquid?”

After the midday blood moon ended, he took out the bottle from the system space and gave it to Anos but secretly left a drop for the system to analyze.

The system’s previous analysis concluded that this liquid had an extremely high energy content and was suspected to be the blood of some creature.

Luo Mi suspected that it was the blood of the Black Wing Lord.

Anos’s expression became more serious: “That’s blood.”

I know that too. Luo Mi blinked: “Whose blood?”

Anos pondered for a moment before slowly speaking, “There are two possibilities… One is pure angel blood, and the other is the blood of God.”
