After this variety show audition produced by Ninglu Media became popular, it was unrivaled for a while.

Jiang Shining also became popular, not only because of how beautiful she was, but also because Ninglu Media really brought a good variety show to this dry world where there had never been any serious good programs.

Of course, Jing Xuan also made a great contribution here, but Jing Xuan deliberately avoided suspicion, so he never appeared in public from beginning to end.

Even though the show was over, several new faces had emerged in the entertainment industry and had amassed a large fan base right after their debut.

Ninglu Media had thus escaped the previous dilemma of a lack of successors. Not only could the four Ninglu artists who debuted bring considerable income to the company, but many other companies and TV stations had also sent them invitations, hoping to develop new variety shows with Ninglu Media.

Putting aside Jiang Shining and her next plans, after the finals of this variety show ended, many viewers still watched it repeatedly.

In the Y City Children’s Welfare Institute, the children were playing games, while the resting caregivers gathered together to chatter about which trainee on the show was more popular.

Places with a lot of children were always very noisy, especially the children in welfare homes who were between three and sixteen years old and were in their naughty years.

In the huge game room, the children’s screams and laughter could blow the roof off the room. The caregiver next to them had turned on the old TV and watched the news calmly without any surprise.

As long as the formalities were passed, you could adopt the children in the orphanage. So different people came to see the children every day.

The children in the welfare home may seem heartless, but they actually all hoped to have a home.

Today, another couple wanted to adopt, and a caregiver took them with them. Through the glass, they could see the children playing in the playroom.

“Look, these children are healthy and lively, but unfortunately they were abandoned by their biological parents.” The caretaker said with a sigh.

The young couple looked around, but none of the lively boys and girls caught their eye. Instead, they fell in love with a little girl who was quietly playing with building blocks in the corner.

The little girl looked about four or five years old, with two pigtails, big eyes, a delicate nose and cute mouth. She looked like a little princess and was just adorable.

The caretaker also followed the young couple’s gaze and immediately sighed when she saw it was her.

“You have good taste. This child is indeed adorable, but you can’t choose her. Several couples wanted to choose her before, but they were all rejected by this child. We can’t do anything about it.”

The caregivers called her “Little Tiger” because no matter how much they nurtured her, she seemed impossible to tame. The little girl’s cuteness naturally evoked a protective urge, but caregiver after caregiver failed to warm this little tiger with their love. And except when eating and sleeping, her beautiful big eyes seemed constantly alert.

Moreover, the little tiger always said some strange things – things like the end of the world, monsters, etc. They didn’t know when she watched a doomsday movie.

Yes, the little tiger was actually Guoguo. She was picked up by Jiang Shining in the apocalyptic world. If it weren’t for Jiang Shining, the mutated Guoguo would have become an enemy of mankind in the end.

In this life, Guoguo was still too young. She only knew that she must not just go with others casually – this was what her mother had taught her!

The caregivers also discovered that when Guoguo was given vaccinations or doing things that would easily make her nervous, she would call out loudly for her mother, but she was clearly an orphan.

Over time, the caregivers got used to this cute yet quirky little girl. Since welfare funds could support these orphans until they reached adulthood and she didn’t want to be adopted so no one forced her.

Another disappointed couple was sent away just like this. Inside the house, another caregiver was watching TV calmly amid the deafening screams and laughter.

The TV happened to be broadcasting entertainment news. Now all the paparazzi and entertainment reporters were even more interested in Jiang Shining than celebrities. However, this program was full of fancy talk and did not dig out any secret information about Jiang Shining.

The caretaker was watching boredly when she suddenly felt someone standing next to her.

“Mom!” a crisp voice called out.

The caretaker was startled. She turned her head and saw Guoguo, who was acting out of character, pointing at the TV and jumping excitedly.

“Little Tiger, what did you say?” the caregiver asked in disbelief.

“Guoguo’s mother! I want to see my mother!” Guoguo said anxiously. After the news was over, Jiang Shining’s face disappeared. And Guoguo burst into tears in anxiety.

The caretaker swallowed and instantly imagined a bunch of terrible plots.

Won’t.

Ten minutes later, Guoguo was taken to another room where the caregivers were waiting. One of them handed over the phone.

“Little Tiger, is there anyone you know here?”

She specifically put Jiang Shining’s photo together with several other female star models with similar hair and clothes. Unexpectedly, Guoguo immediately found Jiang Shining.

“Where is my mother? I want to see her!” Guoguo said while hugging the phone.

The caregivers looked at each other in bewilderment – Jiang Shining was so young that they immediately imagined a bunch of cheesy plots about young people giving birth to children and secretly abandoning them.

After coaxing Guoguo to sleep, the caregivers gathered together to discuss whether or not to contact Ninglu Media for this matter.

If they got in touch, would Jiang Shining dislike the child as a burden and not only disown her but also abandon her again?

But what if they were lost?

After much hesitation, the caregivers made up their minds – to make a phone call! If Jiang Shining was really such a bad person, they would expose the matter and call the police.

So, a call was made to the front desk of Ninglu Media. The receptionist was stunned when she heard about this. How could this be related? The orphans in the neighboring city were pitiful, but claiming their boss to be their mother just because they saw the news sounded more like the nonsense of a poor child without the warmth of family.

Moreover, Ninglu employees completely believed in President Jiang. They absolutely would not believe that Jiang Shining was the kind of person who would abandon a child.

But the other party spoke so confidently that there was nothing they could do. After hesitating for a long time, the receptionist finally called Jiang Shining.

“Boss, there was a strange call today. In an orphanage in Y City, a little girl saw your news and kept calling you mom. The caregivers thought you two were related…” The receptionist could hardly continue.

On the other end of the phone, Jiang Shining’s heart skipped a beat. She knew it must be Guoguo—but she couldn’t get excited right now. They weren’t related by blood, and it was impossible to explain.

“Do you have a photo of this child?” Jiang Shining suppressed her excitement and said calmly, “For an orphan to like me so much, there must be a connection between us.”

“Okay, okay, I’ll send you their contact information.”

The receptionist forwarded the information to Jiang Shining and hung up the phone. She couldn’t help but sigh – their boss was such a good person, she even cares about a child’s nonsense.

Jiang Shining contacted the orphanage and looked at the photo again. She was sure it was her Guoguo!

“I’m definitely childless. You can take my DNA for testing,” Jiang Shining said to the person in charge. “But this little girl is so adorable, and we seem destined to be together. If I pass the review, I’m willing to adopt her.”

In fact, her heart was beating as fast as a drum, and she couldn’t wait to take Guoguo home.

“Of course, that would be the best. But since you’re single and so young, the adoption process might be more complicated… but it’s not impossible!”

It would not be impossible, because Jiang Shining knew that since the robots placed Guoguo here, she must have a way to take her away.

Sure enough, the review process was completed in less than three days, and Jiang Shining prepared to go to Y City with great excitement.

Before leaving, Jiang Shining saw Jing Xuan looking thoughtful.

“What are you thinking about?”

Jing Xuan finally came back to his senses, looked at Jiang Shining, and asked sincerely, “Can you adopt me too?”

Jiang Shining: …

Jiang Shining: “Silly son, wake up.”
