They worked all day, churning out not only Si Huang’s costume, but also the character design for the simulation.
The woman who designed “Lucifer” had bloodshot eyes, likely from a sleepless night.
“Take a look,” the woman opened her computer and showed everyone the newly designed character scene.
Her expression showed her satisfaction with her design. Ace and Louis were also amazed by the magical beauty of the new design.
“According to the script, the first scene is the first meeting between the angel and the demon. The beautiful demon is mistaken for a female counterpart, so perhaps a completely nude scene wouldn’t be more in line with the current design,” Louis commented, examining the design.
Ace didn’t dispute his opinion but instead focused her gaze on Si Huang. “You came up with this idea, so I trust you. Can you pull it off?”
“You can see for yourself later,” Si Huang replied.
Ace nodded, not asking any more questions.
Louis however reminded Si Huang, “This kind of beauty doesn’t require you to play the role of a weak woman…”
“Innocence can make people overlook the charm of gender,” Si Huang calmly interrupted. Louis paused.
“That’s right,” Si Huang looked at him. “I can do it.”
She knew what that kind of charm felt like, just as when she first met Arthur, he had given her a stunning look that transcended both men and women.
Si Huang and Ace then went to their respective dressing rooms to apply their makeup.
Ace had originally arranged a makeup artist for her, but Si Huang insisted on using Yu Ling.
This delighted and touched Yu Ling, especially after being looked at suspiciously by the makeup artists at the Metis company. This only intensified her resolve, determined to do her best, no matter what.
She knew this wasn’t just Si Huang’s chance, but also one he was giving her. She believed that once the photoshoot was released, it would bear not only the names of the actors involved, but also those of the other designers and makeup artists.
A single makeup look took half an hour. After putting a waist-length, jet-black wig on Si Huang, everyone left the room, leaving him to change into his own outfit.
“Are you guys ready?” asked Ace’s agent, James, who had come to inquire and urge her. “Why are you all standing outside? Everyone else is ready.”
Yu Ling was about to respond when she heard the sound of a door opening.
Before she could even turn to look, she saw James, freeze in place, his dark brown eyes wide.
“Let’s go,” Si Huang’s voice called from behind.
Yu Xi glanced at her quickly. Luckily, thanks to his experience from the previous two days and his preparedness, he didn’t lose his composure.
“Mr. James, please lead the way.”
“Huh?” James came to his senses. “Yes, this way.”
He unconsciously used respectful titles and proper etiquette. Only after walking for a while did he regain his composure. He glanced at Si Huang repeatedly and exclaimed, “Oh, my God! You look so great now. Finally, you don’t look like a baby anymore… uh.” The rest of his words died in his stomach as Si Huang’s cold gaze swept over him.
He felt truly impressed and even frightened by this kid from the East!
The filming location was still within the Metis Company, on the 21st floor of the Metis Building.
He passed several groups of people along the way and exclaimed from time to time. Yu Xi realized that Metis had quite a few idle people, as evidenced by the number of onlookers.
“Who is he?”
“The guy next to him is Ace’s agent, James. I heard the day before yesterday that Ace had already chosen her partner, a boy from Country Z!”
“It has to be him! He’s so handsome! I don’t think I’ll ever forget him after meeting him!”
“He doesn’t even look twenty! How arrogant! He doesn’t even know how to say hello!”
A whisper, sometimes raised, could be heard from the crowd.
After walking for about ten minutes, they finally reached their destination.
It was a semi-open studio, with two walls and two transparent glass sides, allowing people to observe and film the scene from inside.
“Hey! I’ve got him,” James called out as he entered.
He didn’t need to shout, though; because as Si Huang and the others entered, everyone inside noticed.
The person they were looking at had jet-black hair, skin whiter than snow, but not a lifeless, gray hue. Instead, it was as pure and clean as oriental porcelain, coated with a thin layer of frost. His eyes were enigmatic, his lips so cold they begged to be kissed and warmed. His entire being radiated a deadly allure. Standing there, motionless, he was like a perfect statue brought to life, blurring the lines between Eastern and Western aesthetics, a breathtaking sight.
The exquisite perfection of Si Huang’s features was well known to Ace, Louis, and the others.
They simply hadn’t imagined that a simple cosmetic touch could create such a powerful visual impact.
No! It wasn’t just a cosmetic change!
Almost simultaneously, Ace and Louis realized that the most resonant aspect was Si Huang’s overall transformation.
Why “overall”?
His eyes had changed, his smile had changed, even the subtlest of his gestures, from his stance to the way his fingers held their ground, contributed to a profound shift in his aura.
Now she was the demon in the photoshoot, unbridled and unrestrained, unleashing all her charm without restraint.
Restraint?
Ace didn’t know why the word had occurred to her.
But once the thought struck her, she knew she was right.
Instead of trying to dazzle others, Si Huang deliberately subdued his charm.
“If there are no other problems, we can begin,” Louis said, looking at Ace.
Ace nodded, then glanced back at Si Huang, only to find him looking back. Her heart skipped a beat.
That look… that look… even more beguiling than Arthur’s!
A small swimming pool had been set up indoors for filming.
The first scene focused on Si Huang. After confirming she was ready, they let her into the water.
It was almost summer, but the weather hadn’t changed so quickly. Most people were still wearing long-sleeved shirts. Suddenly entering the icy cold pool, with dry ice creating an artificial mist for a stunning effect, was still a bit unpleasant.
Louis gave Si Huang time to adjust to the water temperature, but he sank instantly after entering.
Everyone was stunned for about two or three seconds before, with a “splash,” he emerged from the water.
His long, wet hair spread across the surface of the water, and water droplets streamed down his face, making it look even more flawless, almost translucent. He seemed to be closing his eyes lightly, his thoughts etched in the minds of everyone watching. They followed him in silence, ignoring his thoughts, perhaps nothing at all, eager for him to open his eyes.
Time was like the ripples in the pool, gently spreading, one circle after another.
It felt like an eternity, but in reality, it was only a few seconds.
Si Huang, still in the water, slowly opened his eyes. The water droplets clinging to his lashes finally sank, unable to bear the weight.
His dark green pupils were like a dark fire from the abyss, instantly scorching the soul. At first glance, the heart felt like it was being scalded, a sense of astonishment impossible to ignore.
“Click!” the shutter clicked.
“Light board ready, don’t look around,” Louis’s dry voice followed.
The young man holding the light board blushed and gave a dry laugh. He dared not meet Si Huang’s gaze any longer and quickly adjusted the light board according to his experience.
The robe Si Huang wore was made of a specially crafted material. Despite its thick, deep black color, it clung to his body like gauze when soaked in water. It wasn’t transparent, yet it definitely defined the contours of his figure.
For the sake of the shoot, Si Huang had to take a picture of his back as well as his front.
He stood up in the water, half his upper body visible in the air, his back facing Louis and the others. A tall man stood on the shore in front of him, shielding him from most prying eyes.
Even if Qin Fan hadn’t covered her, no one would have been able to see anything. Not only was she bound inside, but the illusion and the veil of her robe made her appear flat and empty to anyone.
The man couldn’t see anything either, yet his gaze remained intensely deep.
Si Huang raised her lips to him, a gentle, clear smile, perhaps meant to soothe him, but it seemed to irritate him instead.
“Si Huang, turn around,” Louis warned her, her smile still lingering. Before she could see anything clearly, she was caught by the flash of a camera.
Her expression remained unchanged, but she blinked. She thought she could hear Louis’s intake of breath.
“Can you swim?”
“Yes.”
“Just swim as you like, practice your in and out movements,” Louis said gently.
Si Huang immediately sank into the water.
The pool wasn’t deep, requiring Si Huang to crouch down to fully submerge herself. She effortlessly opened her eyes, taking in the white and blue scene under the light.
Surprisingly, she felt comfortable and at home in the water, a sense of ease and freedom, as if she could swim in a new way.
The feeling wasn’t intense, but it felt real and instinctive.
Perhaps she could give it a try?
