The track Lin Jianlu was talking about was a specialized racetrack. While it looked like it was built for racing, it didn’t prevent him from going for a motorcycle stroll.

Actually, riding a Harley on the road wouldn’t work, which was an insult to the motorcycle. It would be better to just take a couple of laps.

Yan Han spent the entire morning strolling around, enjoying a satisfying day. He only returned to the rest area once, only to be warned by Xiao Wu in his head that the sun was too strong this morning. He should either go to the dressing room and apply sunscreen or find some shade.

Yan Han chose to return to the rest area for a drink and some sunscreen.

Lin Jianlu had already set up water and various cold drinks in the rest area next to the track. He sat there, basking in the sun while watching Yan Han soak up the charm of the Harley.

So when Yan Han returned, he saw Brother Lin wearing sunglasses and drinking juice while lounging on a beach chair.

Lin Jianlu had changed his clothes again, from his standard trousers and T-shirt to a shirt and beach shorts. Adding those high-end sunglasses, he looked like he wasn’t just enjoying the cool air in his own yard, but on vacation at the beach.

Seeing Yan Han return, Lin Jianlu naturally handed him a glass of juice.

“Cucumber and pear juice. Hydrates, stimulates appetite, and has anti-aging properties.”

“…” Yan Han’s lips twitched before he took it. “Thank you, Big Brother Lin.”

He took a sip through the straw. It tasted bland, but it did quench his thirst.

After a few sips of the juice, Yan Han looked down again and saw a Border Collie squatting beside Lin Jianlu’s legs, sticking out its tongue and observing him with its round, dripping eyes.

“This is Lin Kaixin. He’s been with me since he was little. He’s three years old.” Lin Jianlu introduced him, patting Kaixin’s head. Just as Yan Han was stunned that even a mysophobe like Lin Jianlu could have such a smooth time raising a dog, Lin Kaixin had already stood up, curiously circled around him, and rubbed affectionately against his leg.

…This dog is quite adorable.

Looking at it this way, Lin Kaixin did have a smiling face, was gentle and amiable, and looked genuinely happy.

Yan Han had always been indifferent to furry things. This indifference meant that dogs wouldn’t be cute unless they provoked him, but if a dog actually did hang around him, sticking out its tongue and saying “hahaha” in a cute way, then he wasn’t such a stone-hearted person that he could remain completely indifferent.

So, later on, Yan Han went back to the track over there, playing with his bike and dog, while Lin Jianlu continued to sit there enjoying the cool breeze.

After playing until noon, Yan Han, sweating under the scorching heat, returned to the villa with Lin Jianlu. This time, he skipped the guest room and was led directly to his own room on the third floor.

Because they were upstairs and downstairs, Lin Jianlu’s room had a similar layout to the guest room downstairs, except the bedroom was right at the entrance, with a walk-in closet between the bedroom and bathroom.

As for Big Brother Lin’s room, it was impeccably clean and tidy, so impeccable that Yan Han had to be extremely cautious even while touring it, fearing that a single hair might cause Big Brother Lin discomfort.

Lin Jianlu, however, didn’t seem to be bothered at all. In fact he seemed surprised, especially when Yan Han retreated to the dressing room to shower and change. Lin Jianlu cautiously walked past the spot Yan Han had passed in his room and realized he didn’t feel anything unusual.

This room had always been off-limits to the Lin family, even the two aunts were forbidden from entering. Normally, Lin Jianlu cleaned and tidied it himself. Unexpectedly…

Lin Jianlu lowered his eyelashes slightly, lost in thought, but he couldn’t figure out the reason.

But a moment later, when Yan Han emerged from the dressing room, he couldn’t help but curl his lips and say, “Stay here for a while. Auntie said lunch will be ready soon.”

“Huh? Still having lunch? Why, do I look like a freeloader?”

Despite saying so, Yan Han still plopped down in the chair in front of Lin Jianlu’s desk.

And then, he saw that his brother Lin’s desk here was also covered with a yellow giraffe-shaped tablecloth.

….

Big Brother Lin must really love giraffes!

For a moment, Yan Han felt that beneath his tough exterior, there was a truly endearing soul.

Otherwise, Lin Jianlu’s desk was bare. No books, no pens, no paper. Just a desk lamp on the corner, and a couple of books scattered on the side shelves…

Compared to the bare bookshelves, the cloakroom inside was much more well-stocked.

While its size couldn’t compare to the dressing room the system had given him, it was filled with men’s clothing! Starting from the right, the rows were filled with men’s shirts, jackets, and jeans. There were more than one set, both casual and loungewear. Yan Han even spotted a section dedicated to their school uniforms… a whole row, seemingly brand new, washed, neatly hung and quietly awaiting their owners’ changing.

Lin Jianlu wandered the men’s cloakroom with envy, letting Yan Han explore. He went in to grab a set of clothes and then headed towards the bathroom. “I’m going to take a shower, too. You will wait here?”

“Oh, sure.”

“My study is across the way. If you’re bored, you can check it out.”

“…”

So there was actually a study?!

No wonder he always thought the bare bookshelves looked very un-Big Brother Lin-like!

Yan Han said no, since he couldn’t even understand Lin Jianlu’s books, so why bother making things uncomfortable?

After Lin Jianlu emerged with another change of clothes, he still showed him his second private space— his study.

His study seemed to be about a hundred square meters.

The large suite was made up of three rooms, each furnished with a desk and chairs. Bookshelves lined the walls, filled from top to bottom with all kinds of books. The scale of it was practically on par with a small library.

“Even libraries usually have duplicate copies of books, but in your house, there’s not a single repeat!” Even someone like Yan Han, who didn’t have any special love for books, was genuinely shocked when he saw this.

Before, he couldn’t quite understand how Lin Jianlu, despite being so young—even if highly intelligent— could be so knowledgeable and talented.

Now he finally got it.

Looking around at the bookshelves, Lin Jianlu said, “Yeah, I really liked spending time here when I was a kid.”

“Tsk, when I was a kid…” Yan Han looked up at the sky, trying hard to recall what he was doing at the age when Brother Lin was already burying himself in books. In the end, the conclusion was: mostly running wild— getting into trouble all over the mountains with the other kids from the compound.

“And then getting beaten up by my dad. Every time he beat me, my grandma would come out and try to stop him… That was pretty much my childhood.”

As he reminisced, Lin Jianlu just quietly watched him, eyes filled with a kind of longing and envy.

Yan Han couldn’t help but get curious and asked him, “So, Big Brother Lin, you were never naughty when you were a kid?”

Lin Jianlu thought seriously about this question before answering, “No.”

“Never?”

“No, as far as I can remember.”

“…”

Well, after all, Big Brother Lin couldn’t be considered a human.

He’s a god!

After spending a short while in Lin Jianlu’s study, just as Yan Han was getting dizzy from looking over those books, lunch was finally ready and the aunt came up to call them to eat.

While eating a hearty lunch, Lin Jianlu asked him if he wanted to continue playing motorcycles in the afternoon.

“No.”

While having fun all morning, he just treated it as a day off. But thinking that he couldn’t continue to be decadent like this, the eldest brother said goodbye to Lin Jianlu.

“No, extravagance and debauchery make people slack.” Yan Han muttered while eating, “I can’t be so careless, I have to go back to school to do my homework!”

“Yeah.” Lin Jianlu still didn’t stop him, but just said: “I know some friends, and they may hold an off-road motorcycle race in a while. Are you interested in participating then?”

“…Will you lend me your motorcycle then?”

“Of course.” Lin Jianlu said: “It looks like you ride better than me.”

“Then I must participate!”

“That’s settled.” Lin Jianlu said again: “Then I’ll ask someone to take you back. Aunt Tian, please help contact the driver.”

“Okay, young master.”

Yan Han wanted to stop him and said: “Or you can lend me your bike and I’ll ride it back.”

Lin Jianlu was a little helpless. Before he could say anything, the enthusiastic Aunt Tian had already said: “Hey, young master, we are far away from here. You can only get to school by bike at night.”

After that, she immediately made a phone call.

Hearing this, Yan Han cast a suspicious glance at Lin Jianlu. “…So you were just messing with me when you said you’d ride Laozi home this morning?”

When no one was around, Big Brother had already let loose, throwing around words like “Uncle” and “Laozi” without restraint. Lin Jianlu simply listened, not correcting him. Of course, this was also due to Yan Han’s subconscious reluctance to use harsh language in front of him.

At this moment, Big Brother smiled and admitted frankly, “Yeah.”

“… Big Brother.”

“Yeah?”

“You’re getting worse!”

Yan Han said, about to reach out and “teach” Lin Jianlu. Seeing this, Aunt Tian, who had just called back, was startled.

But she didn’t make a fuss. In fact, if possible, she would have liked the young master’s friend to stay a little longer, to play with the young master a little longer…

Of course, Yan Han didn’t really mean to beat Lin Jianlu. After all, Big Brother was highly respected in the Yan Gang. How could he just hit him? It was all just a caress.

After caressing him, Yan Han curiously asked, “So what are you doing this afternoon? Getting a haircut? Where?”

Lin Jianlu replied, “Yes, I’m getting a haircut, but I’m not in a hurry.”

“Young Master’s hair is growing longer.” Aunt Tian sighed and said to Yan Han, “You don’t know, every time Young Master gets a haircut, it’s like peeling off a layer of skin. He has to be mentally prepared before going. It’s heartbreaking just thinking about it.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah.” Lin Jianlu glanced at Aunt Tian but didn’t blame her. He simply explained to Yan Han, “Because it makes me uncomfortable when my hair is touched.”

Yan Han: “Oh!”

Damn… This Big Brother Lin’s obsession is really hard to bear.

As a former barber, he’d dealt with all kinds of weird clients, but someone like Lin Jianlu who felt uncomfortable even having his hair touched… and so on.

Yan Han’s eyes widened again. “That’s easy to deal with. Come to me, I’ll cut your hair!”

“Young Master, you’re kidding! You’re so young and still studying, how can you cut hair?” The aunt next to him was the first to disbelieve him.

Yan Han had no choice but to point to his head and said, “What do you think of my hairstyle? I cut it myself.”

Auntie: “…”
