The amusement park’s livestream received a fantastic response. On the first day of its opening, crowds flocked to the park.

Ning Ning and Ling Qing even became trending topics on the same day. Many film and television crews and children’s clothing companies even approached Yun He, hoping she could help connect with Ning Ning.

Yun He declined, believing it unnecessary.

“We’re not short of money, and Ning Ning is still young, so there’s no rush for filming or endorsements. He can go out and play but not work.”

A child’s childhood only came once, and Ling Qing’s own wasn’t a happy one, so he preferred Ning Ning to be more relaxed and happy.

He wanted to compensate his child for all his past regrets, hoping Ning Ning would be a different person from him.

Ning Ning was completely unaware of the job opportunity he’d had so early in life. He just happily spent his days drawing and playing at home. He gave the little monkey he’d brought from the amusement park to Butler Wang, who excitedly kissed him several times and bought him a bunch of toys the next day.

Ning Ning was delighted and spent the entire day playing with toys with Butler Wang and Ling Qing.

He did remember the flying shoes he’d promised Chen Bo, but Butler Wang told Ling Qing that they no longer accepted custom orders. Their willingness to make shoes for Ning Ning was simply a favor given their close personal relationship.

Ling Qing told Xu Wanli the truth, and Xu Wanli told Chen Bo. Chen Bo was somewhat upset, but Xu Wanli bought him a similar pair, which helped him feel better. He was a little disappointed, however, because the wings on his shoes wouldn’t move.

Ling Qing’s work continued. He won another award last year, solidifying his position in the industry. He was now sought after for TV dramas and film adaptations.

Ling Qing wasn’t too eager to rush, choosing scripts slowly and leisurely.

He no longer needed to cultivate popularity; filming one film a year was enough for him.

He had fulfilled what he’d promised Yu Chen: “I’ll become famous as soon as possible. Once I’m famous, I’ll have more choices.”

When Ning Ning was four, Ling Qing and Yu Chen sent him to kindergarten.

Ning Ning was reluctant to stay out all day. Even though he’d already made arrangements with both dads the night before, he still held onto Ling Qing’s hand on the first day of school, not wanting him to leave.

Ling Qing hugged him and coaxed him, “All the kids have to go to kindergarten. Ning Ning, look, so many kids are going. You’re a kid too, shouldn’t you go too?”

He patiently said, “There are lots of kids your age at kindergarten. You can play with them. You can play games and toys together, and you can make your own good friends.”

“Ning Ning, don’t you want to make friends?”

Ning Ning thought for a moment and asked, “Can’t Dad come with me to make friends?”

“No,” Ling Qing said. “Just like Daddy can’t take Ning Ning with him when he’s at work, Ning Ning can’t take Dad with him to kindergarten.”

Hearing this, Ning Ning puffed out his cheeks, not quite willing.

Ling Qing kissed his cheek. “Go ahead. Our Ning Ning is the bravest.”

“So when will Dad pick me up?”

“4:30 p.m.”

“Will I see Dad when I come out?”

“Of course.”

Ning Ning then walked into the classroom, looking back every few steps.

The teacher spent half an hour chatting with Ling Qing and Yu Chen, expressing her kindness and concern for the students. Ling Qing listened attentively, his heart filled with thoughts of his little Ning Ning.

He watched from the window for a long moment, until he saw Ning Ning chatting with his deskmate and smiling with his eyes curved. Only then did he leave with a sense of relief.

“It’s okay,” Yu Chen reassured him. “Ning Ning adapts well to the environment. Don’t worry, he’ll get along well with everyone.”

Ling Qing nodded, though a trace of worry remained.

After dropping Ning Ning off at school, Yu Chen went to work, and Ling Qing returned home.

With nothing else to do, he decided to pack up his belongings and sort through his photos.

Ling Qing hadn’t always liked taking pictures; to be more precise, he had no particular interest, simply being indifferent. Then, after Ning Ning was born, he sometimes had to leave for work. And when he returned, he would notice that Ning Ning had grown up considerably.

Ling Qing felt a sense of guilt for not being able to participate in his child’s growth. Yu Chen noticed this and began taking photos to commemorate Ning Ning’s growth and changes, showing them to him one by one when he returned.

Sometimes, Yu Chen would record videos, and Ling Qing, watching them, felt as if he were part of the times he hadn’t been, it thus became a source of comfort.

He carefully sorted Ning Ning’s photos by time, observing how Ning Ning grew more like Yu Chen as he grew older, and also more and more like himself.

He quietly stroked the photos between his fingers, feeling that this child was truly a gift from heaven.

Butler Wang, noticing that he had been staying inside, knocked on the door to check on him.

Finding him sorting photos, he also joined him.

He was the one who spent the most time with Ning Ning in the family. Yu Chen and Ling Qing both had jobs, so it was Butler Wang who was with Ning Ning most of the time. At his age, he loved children, and Ning Ning was Yu Chen and Ling Qing’s child, so well-behaved and sensible that Butler Wang just wanted to pluck the sun and moon from the sky for him.

Ling Qing was truly grateful to him, not only for his kindness to him, Yu Chen, and Ning Ning, but also for his dedication to the family.

Ling Qing remembered that one time when he returned home at night, Butler Wang and Ning Ning were still awake. The movie channel was playing “Dreams”. Ning Ning then pointed at Mo Tang and shouted, “Dad.”

Butler Wang hugged him and said, “Yes, your dad.”

His tone was very gentle. He said, “Although your dad can’t be with you every day, he loves you very much. He worked hard to bring you into this world, so Ning Ning, you have to understand dad, listen to dad, and be nice to him, okay?”

Ning Ning didn’t know what understanding meant, let alone what it meant to work hard to bring you into the world. He only knew what it meant to love you, so he nodded happily and said softly, “Ning Ning loves dad too.”

“Yeah.” Butler Wang kissed him, “You have two dads, both of whom love you very much.”

Ning Ning smiled and clapped his hands at him, then turned his head and saw Ling Qing, and said excitedly, “Dad.”

He stretched out his hand for Ling Qing to hold him. Butler Wang then realized that Ling Qing was back, so he stood up and handed Ning Ning over.

Ling Qing took him with a smile, and chatted him as usual, where Butler Wang shared his family news as usual.

Ling Qing had never asked anyone around him what they thought of his pregnancy. To him, it was a private matter between him and Yu Chen. He loved Yu Chen, and Yu Chen loved him, and that was all.

He could sense the kindness of those around him who knew about his pregnancy, but for the first time, it was so palpable that Ling Qing felt a genuine warmth in his heart.

He hadn’t grown up in a good environment, receiving little love and surrounded by family arguments and conflicts. He had always wanted to give Ning Ning a good upbringing—one filled with love, warmth, and sunshine wherever he went. He had already found these things, even when Ning Ning was still in his belly.

Everyone around him loved Ning Ning, and as a result, Ning Ning was sensible, obedient, innocent, and lovable.

Unconsciously, he had grown into the person he had always wanted to be.

Ling Qing smiled as he discussed the photos in his hand with Butler Wang, then sorted them out and put them back in the cabinet.
