Zhang Zhongmin was also lying in the classroom. Fu Ke immediately spotted the dark-skinned man.

His lips were pale, and he lay on the ground, his chest barely rising or falling. He looked like a dead man.

Fu Ke wondered if this had happened before in her past life, or what the outcome had been. It was clear that this rain, while a boon for zombies, was terrifying for humans.

She couldn’t understand why she felt such an aversion to the rain, considering she was also a zombie.

“Can I take him away?” Fu Ke glanced at Jian Yiluan.

Jian Yiluan stared at Fu Ke in surprise, not understanding why she wanted to take Zhang Zhongmin away, even though Fu Ke didn’t mention him by name. But Jian Yiluan subconsciously felt that she must be talking about Zhang Zhongmin.

“Can’t I?” Fu Ke frowned. She knew that her peaceful coexistence with this base was inseparable from Zhang Zhongmin. Therefore, nothing could happen to him.

If Zhang Zhongmin became a zombie or died, her and the base would no longer be able to coexist peacefully.

It wasn’t for any reason, it was simply the inherent weakness of human nature.

Fu Ke knew she was drawing suspicion in many ways, but suspicion was fine, as long as those people didn’t come to investigate.

Even if they wanted to investigate, they’d have to see if they had the ability.

Whether human or zombie, very few had even reached the third level. Fu Ke believed no one could be stronger than her.

But she still liked the way things were going. It was good for everyone to get what they needed, wasn’t it?

Fu Ke wasn’t sure if she could help Zhang Zhongmin, but she felt it was at least better than having him haphazardly placed in this classroom.

“Well… I don’t have the final say,” Jian Yiluan said with an awkward smile. “I want to ask the squad leaders.”

He was just a squad leader. Even if Zhang Zhongmin was unconscious, it didn’t change the fact that he was the head of the base. Although no one had a specific title, everyone believed it.

Fu Ke nodded and looked through the glass window at the people inside. The large classroom was full. Due to limited facilities, they couldn’t separate them into individual rooms.

“Then you go ask them.” Fu Ke said casually, but she had other thoughts in her mind.

Everyone unanimously agreed to pay the crystal cores and return to the dormitory. With Fu Ke’s help, they soon returned to the dormitory safely.

Qiu Yingying silently watched Fu Ke’s skilful water control and decided to practice hard in private. Water-based superpowers were really more than just water supply.

….

In the darkness, Yang Zicong was at a loss: “Where is this place?”

A bright light cut through the darkness. The dazzling light made Yang Zicong quickly shield his eyes with his hands. After a long time, he tentatively removed his hands and looked over cautiously.

After his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw a man wearing a bright yellow ancient costume robe embroidered with dragon patterns. His hair was raised high and tied with a bright yellow headband. The headband also had a jade pendant carved with a flying dragon.

The man stood with his hands behind his back.

“Are you unwilling to give up?”

Yang Zicong was stunned for a moment. “Who are you?”

“I’m someone who can help you realize your wish. If you want it, I can do it for you.” The man in the dragon robe stood not far away, his hands behind his back, his chin slightly raised and his dark eyes filled with emotion.

“Anything I want, you can help me?” Yang Zicong looked at the man suspiciously.

“Of course,” the man nodded.

Yang Zicong scoffed, “I don’t have any regrets. I can avenge all my humiliation and hatred on my own. I don’t need anyone’s help!”

The man looked at Yang Zicong, chuckled, and drew a circle with his hand.

A picture appeared within the circle he drew.

After being driven out, Yang Zicong walked purposefully towards the county town below City D. Gradually, his fear of zombies faded.

Discovering how easy it was to kill zombies, his bloodlust grew stronger, and he won over many along the way.

However, the picture showed Yang Zicong unconscious after being caught in the rain and then being thrown out by a group of his men.

Yang Zicong’s face instantly turned pale. “You bunch of bast**ds!”

“Anyone caught in the rain will be infected and turn into a zombie. Are you sure you can still avenge yourself?” The man gently waved a folding paper fan. “If I remember correctly, you’re still seeking revenge on D City University, right?”

“How did you know?” Yang Zicong told no one about this, staring at the man in disbelief.

“Of course I know,” the man’s narrow eyes narrowed slightly. “I told you I could help you.”

Caught in the rain, he fell into a coma and had a fever. Yang Zicong was devastated. How could he survive the coma? If he couldn’t, he’d turn into a zombie.

He was unwilling to give up. “What do you want?”

Yang Zicong didn’t believe in free lunches, nor did he believe this person who had appeared out of nowhere would be so kind as to offer him unconditional help.

“I just need a wisp of your soul energy.” The man folded the paper fan. “It won’t affect you in any way. It’s a good deal. What do you think? Consider it?”

Yang Zicong had no idea what soul energy was.

But the name suggested it had something to do with the soul. But, if he turned into a zombie, wouldn’t there be nothing left? He couldn’t even get revenge!

When he was kicked out of school by Zhang Zhongmin, Yang Zicong secretly vowed that one day he would go back and raze the entire school to the ground!

“Okay, I want to be reborn before the end of the world.” Yang Zicong said without thinking. It’s just a soul, just a wisp, probably not very important.

However, the man shook his fingers: “No, no, no, I think you misunderstood. I can help you get revenge, but I don’t have the ability to regenerate you.”

Yang Zicong was stunned: “Then how are you going to help me get revenge?”

“If you want revenge, you can only listen to me. Otherwise, you will become a zombie and know nothing. Let alone revenge?” The man’s low voice was a little tempting.

Yang Zicong pursed his lips and asked in despair, “Is there any way to bring me back to life? It doesn’t matter if I become a zombie, I just need to stay sane!”

The man shook his head, “Don’t you understand yet? You can’t be reborn. You’ll immediately turn into a mindless zombie as soon as you return to your body. I can avenge you on your behalf, but there’s no other way.”

Looking at Yang Zicong, who seemed to be collapsing, the man paused, “Of course, this is the only chance. If you don’t want to, then I’ll leave.”

“No!” Yang Zicong watched the man turn around and leave, and instinctively stopped him, “Help me, help me get revenge!”

His face was twisted and ferocious with anger and sadness.

If Zhang Zhongmin hadn’t driven him out of the base, how could he have become like this? How could he have turned into a zombie! It’s all Zhang Zhongmin and everyone in D City University’s fault!

Now that he can’t survive, let’s go to hell together!

Yang Zicong said sinisterly, “I’m going to raze D City University, and those bast**ds too. I want them dead too! Not just dead, but I want them to die miserably, with style!”

The man looked at Yang Zicong in surprise, a playful smile appearing on his lips.

“Sounds good, just as you wish.”

With that, the man disappeared. And Yang Zicong appeared in a sealed room with a bed and a TV.

Turning on the TV, he saw the man lying in the rain slowly opening his eyes, a flash of interest lighting in his black pupils. Yang Zicong immediately thought of the man from before.

666 stood in the rain, stretched his body, and twisted his neck.

After two days of lying on the ground, his bones seemed almost stiff. Twisting his neck even made a creaking sound, which sounded a bit creepy.

“Tsk tsk tsk tsk, it’s like a broken antique,” 666 said with disdain.

Yang Zicong: …

Because of the rain, the dozen or so men Yang Zicong had subjugated simply carried and tossed Yang Zicong out. So, when 666 turned around, he saw the closed shutters of the grocery store.

666 walked straight over and knocked on the door.

The reason Yang Zicong’s men had so easily thrown him out was because he would kill anyone with a fever without a second thought. This frightened them, but they didn’t have the courage to kill him outright, so they threw him out. The clang-bang-bang sound of the shutters made the dozen or so people inside the grocery store look at each other nervously.

Cheng Hai, who used to be constantly jumping around beside Yang Zicong, raised his hand, urging everyone to be quiet. He then listened carefully, but there was no sound.

No one opened the door, and 666 grew impatient.

He couldn’t wait to fulfil his promise to Yang Zicong and let these people experience a different way to die.

He unapologetically employed his abilities to meet the mission’s requirements. He clenched his fists, and three long, gleaming blades suddenly emerged from between his protruding metacarpal bones.

666 stared at the claw-like blades, his arm muscles slowly bulging. He then casually placed the blades in both hands on the shutter.

Slowly sliding down, the shutter, defenceless as a sheet of paper, was slashed open.

The dozen or so people inside the grocery store watched in horror as six gleaming blades suddenly pierced the shutter, slowly sliding down with a teeth-grinding, grating sound.

But the effortlessness, like cutting tofu, sent them retreating.

“Upstairs, quick, upstairs!” Cheng Hai whispered, and he was the first to rush upstairs.

“Whoa!”

The shutter ripped open.

“Ah!!!!” the people inside couldn’t help but scream, scrambling to get upstairs. Unfortunately, the stairs were only wide enough for one person.

Those who were scrambling to get ahead grabbed the person in front of them and pulled them down.

“Boss?” The woman who had been staring at the door in shock finally saw the person at the door clearly and stammered, wondering if she had seen it wrong.

The word “Boss” made everyone stop in their tracks. Everyone turned around to look at the man who was standing there nonchalantly at the door, as if he was enjoying their performance.

Who else could it be but the boss?

As the only woman, Xue Xiaoxiao rushed over with tears in her eyes and said in a delicate voice, “Boss, I’m so glad you’re okay. Xiaoxiao was almost worried to death.”
