Everyone turned to look and saw a slender girl in a plain dress with a cold and emotionless look in her eyes.

“You, you are a doctor?” The woman was overjoyed.

“Put him down.” Yu Linlang stepped forward to observe the child’s condition. After taking his pulse, she lifted his eyelids and took a look.

“Just now, that evil man threw my child out.” The woman choked out, “Doctor, will my child be okay?”

“The right pupil is slightly dilated, not particularly serious.” Yu Linlang murmured softly, turning to the woman and said, “Go borrow a wooden mortar.”

She then ordered Jiu Jin to get some thick cotton cloth to wrap around the child’s head.

After the woman hurriedly took the wooden mortar, she turned it upside down on the child’s head and pressed it tightly.

Everyone watched with curiosity.

“Doctor, is this all right?” the woman asked in a trembling voice.

“Learn this. If the pain recurs at night, just do it again for the child,” Yu Linlang said calmly. She took a small wooden stick and tapped the bottom of the mortar while teaching the woman how to do it.

The child quickly regained consciousness, his mouth opening as he burst into tears.

The woman followed suit, crying, “My son, my son!”

“Doctor, is this enough for my child? Does he need any medicine?”

Yu Linlang unwrapped the bandage from the child’s head and stroked his bones with her fingertips. “It’s nothing serious. It doesn’t matter if he takes the medicine or not. If you’re really worried, I’ll leave you a prescription.”

“Two cents of calamus, two cents of liu jinu, three cents of sophora flavescens…”

Yu Linlang read as Jiu Jin quickly wrote down a prescription and handed it to the woman. “Um, would you like a bandage first?”

The woman had also just bruised her forehead, and because she had been focused on taking care of the child while he was unconscious, she looked quite frightening with half her face covered in blood.

“Thank you very much, young lady,” the woman said, her face filled with gratitude.

“This girl looks so young, but her medical skills are quite good,” the onlookers couldn’t help but murmur.

“Is this real? The child had already hit his head, so why is she hitting him with a stick? Is that going to work?”

“If you can do it, why don’t you do it? They’ve already revived the child!”

Yu Linlang ignored the others’ chatter, then completing her task, she prepared to leave.

Unexpectedly, Hong Wei, her hair dishevelled, rushed over and fell to her feet.

Yu Linlang frowned, noticing her dishevelled appearance and dishevelled hair, felt it was unseemly. She took three steps back before finally coming to her senses.

Seeing her disdain for her, Hong Wei’s eyes flashed with anger. Using her hands and feet, she crawled toward her, screaming, “Miss, Miss, save me, save me! Look at my face! It hurts! It hurts!”

“I only know a little about medicine,” Yu Linlang replied coldly. “Your face is so rotten! Doctors aren’t gods; they can’t save it.”

Hong Wei was furious, but she still had to depend on Yu Linlang for her care. So she suppressed her anger and crawled forward, reaching for Yu Linlang’s skirt.

“Miss, save me! Please save me! You just revived that child in a few seconds. You can save my face, right?”

Yu Linlang stared at the hem of her skirt, which she clutched tightly, and slowly squatted down to meet her eye level.

“Isn’t that right?”

Hong Wei stared into her icy eyes, shuddering for no apparent reason.

“W-what?” she asked, her eyes wide and trembling.

Yu Linlang stretched out two slender fingers and gently grasped Hong Wei’s chin. She stared at her with cold eyes, and a hint of mockery slowly curled up the corners of her lips, “You already have a hideous face, and now, you are really… detested by everyone, even the devil.”

When she said the last word “detest”, Yu Linlang pushed her bloodstained face to the side.

Peeling her skirt away bit by bit from the other party’s hands, Yu Linlang ignored Hong Wei’s crying and yelling and went straight to the young general.

She bowed, and the other party was stunned for a moment before quickly returning the greeting.

“The house is not strict in discipline, allowing this maid to cause trouble on the road. Just now, she was coquettish and took out food to tease others, so she caused this food snatching incident. It has nothing to do with others. My lord, just take her away and report to the emperor.”

“The young lady is very skilled and kind-hearted, and she understands righteousness. Zhao is very grateful to her.”

Yu Linlang nodded slightly and walked towards the carriage.

Seeing soldiers actually approaching to arrest her, Hong Wei cowered in fear and screamed, “What are you doing? Let me go! Yu Linlang, I’m a maid in the court of the wife of the Weizhou governor. What right do you have to arrest me?”

Yu Linlang turned abruptly, a glint in her eyes. “You’ve become so filthy, and you still dream of returning to the mansion with me? You can afford to lose this face, but our governor’s mansion can’t.”

“A humble family dares to challenge the majesty of the state law? Do you believe that if your Madam were here, she would have had you executed on the spot, a lowly servant who has caused trouble without reason, and who has acted recklessly under the name of the governor’s mansion.”

Hong Wei collapsed with fear, collapsing to the ground as if she had suffered a hit.

Fortunately, a soldier supported her, otherwise her legs, as limp as noodles, would have been useless.

Mama Hu was also pale with fear, and she had not yet recovered.

Two maids supported her as she trembled forward. As soon as she opened her mouth to call out “Young Lady,” Yu Linlang spun around and slapped her hard across the face, knocking her head sideways.

“Still wanting to beg for mercy? Look at the maid you’ve trained for the mistress!” Yu Linlang snarled in a cold voice. “You’re so shameless!”

She stormed into the carriage, threw down the curtain, and coldly ordered, “Let’s go.”

She hadn’t meant to beg for mercy on Hong Wei’s behalf. Thinking this, Mama Hu was filled with grief and indignation. She clutched her reddened face, overcome with rage and anger, almost fainting on the spot.

She had lived in the mansion for over a decade, and she had never suffered such humiliation.

The legitimate daughter wasn’t just slapping her; she was clearly slapping the governor’s wife!

Several refugees who had taken advantage of the chaos to loot and smash things were apprehended by the soldiers, and soon the carriage was slowly moving forward with the crowd.

Jiu Jin poured a cup of tea for her young lady and tucked a soft pillow behind her waist.

Yu Linlang rubbed the warm cup with her fingers, sneering in her heart. She had originally intended to deal with that arrogant girl before returning home, but she was so stupid that she destroyed herself without her ordering anyone to do anything.

Look, this is the good servant raised by her mother, the wife of the governor, who was so high and mighty.

She had troubled her again and again, damn it.

Yu Linlang raised her finger and gently lifted the curtain, just in time to see a man getting off the opposite carriage.

His hair was like silver frost and snow, and his eyes were as clear as mist. It was clearly an official road with people passing by, but he was like a stunning beauty in a painting, his face peerless and untouched by dust.

The winter dust was fine and lingering. As the carriage passed by, Yu Linlang gently lowered the curtain and sat upright.

The young general was riding forward and passed by Yu Linlang’s carriage.

“Sir, why did you get off the carriage? It’s so windy and cold outside! Why don’t you get him a cloak?”

Jiu Jin poured some hot water for her miss and lifted a corner of the curtain to take a look. “Miss, it seems to be snowing again.”
