Hearing Anos’ words, the two missionaries showed panic on their faces and subconsciously grasped their four crosses of the same length, but soon lowered their heads dejectedly.

A light burst out from Anos’s hands.

Luo Mi stood aside admiring the special effects, almost cracking some melon seeds: “The special effects are so advanced this time. Is there a halo above the Son of God’s head? Has he really become an angel?”

This special effect did not last long. Soon the holy light turned into feathers and fell on the two missionaries, condensing into an illusory halo that locked around their necks and wrists.

The two missionaries instantly looked as if they were seriously injured. Their faces turned pale and they could not even stand. They had to support each other to avoid falling down.

Anos stared at them, his body slightly floating, his blue eyes had become ethereal, and his voice was tinged with a hint of ethereal holiness: “Anyone who believes in God will be redeemed and will be a brother or sister. As servants of God, you should protect believers, and even if some have gone astray, you should guide them back to the right path. God is merciful and will give believers a chance to repent.”

The two missionaries coughed weakly twice and said reluctantly, “We will follow the instructions of His Majesty the Angel.”

The halo above Anos’s head disappeared and he fell back to the ground. He said to them, “You can go back and repent.”

The two missionaries looked at each other.

One of them whispered, “Angel, won’t you go back with us?”

Anos looked at him silently.

“The secularists are entangled with the nobility and the imperial power, which is a stain on the faith of God! As an angel given by God to walk on earth, how can you stay in the holy city of the secularists and be corrupted by them?” The missionary said indignantly, “You should come to us, to the believers who truly believe in God!”

Anos was silent for a moment, then said, “I am with all believers.”

The pious missionary was about to say something else when he heard Anos continue, “I will visit Archbishop Valentine.”

Grani Valentine was the leader of the Pietists.

The two missionaries were delighted, but before they could be happy, Anos continued, “You violated God’s teachings. My punishment for you is to take back the divine power bestowed by God. As for the punishment from the perspective of the Church, I will discuss it with Archbishop Valentine.”

The two missionaries’ expressions froze.

They wanted to argue some more, but when they met Anos’s blue eyes, they felt awe of the deep sea and could only lower their heads in awe.

….

The two missionaries left quietly without saying goodbye to the mayor.

Luo Mi asked: “Won’t they run away?”

Anos shook his head: “Imprisoned by my holy light power, they will only suffer physical and mental torture if they escape.”

Luo Mi thought for a moment, “The Pietists seem to have a lot of opposition to the Holy See, but they are very supportive of you?”

Anos nodded: “The Pietists oppose anything that has to do with secular power, but acknowledge the guidance from God – that is, the angels and the Chosen Ones.”

And the Son was called an angel on earth.

Luo Mi thought of a lot further: the devout faction that opposed secular power was obviously much weaker than the secular faction in terms of organizational strength, so they were more eager to get the support of the angels on earth.

Luo Mi asked in his heart: “Isn’t the position of Holy Son determined by the Holy See itself?”

[This setting system is not clear either, the host can ask the Son.]

“What’s the use of you?” Luo Mi said angrily, “It’s a bit blasphemous to ask this question out loud. I have to find a time to ask it in a roundabout way.”

After resolving the religious issues of the Witch Trial in Larry Town, the only issues left were practical ones.

Luo Mi sat on the bed, wagging his tail, folding a piece of paper into a paper airplane and flying it around, and asked boredly: “Anos, what are we waiting for?”

Anos stood by the window, watching the two missionaries leave, and shook his head, saying, “I’m thinking about how to pry the mayor’s mouth open.”

Luo Mi blinked: “Isn’t it okay to do what you did just now?”

Anos turned around and said, “The mayor is obviously not a devout believer, so he will be afraid of the power of holy light, but he will never be easily convinced.”

Luo Mi thought that in the eyes of a devout believer like the Son of God, there were only two kinds of people in the world: believers and pagans.

He thought about it and jumped off the bed: “I have an idea.”

Anos looked at him.

“Since the divine power is useless, why not think about it the other way around – isn’t he holding a witch trial here? What if a demon suddenly shows up to visit him?”

Luo Mi’s tail stood up proudly, swaying behind his buttocks as he spoke, and pointed at himself, “I will disguise myself as a high-level demon to scare him, and I will definitely scare him into telling the truth – even if not, he will definitely be more inclined to rely on the Church.”

Now that the two missionaries of the Pietists had left, the mayor could only rely on the church and the sudden appearance of Anos.

Anos frowned and rejected it: “As a servant of God, how can you deceive believers in this way?”

“How is it a deception?” Luo Mi said seriously, “Look, I am a devil, right? The mayor is afraid of devils, right? Asking the church for help after encountering a devil is what believers should do, right? We just facilitated the process to proceed naturally, right?”

Anos’ brows were still furrowed, as if he wanted to refute but couldn’t come up with a definite reason.

Luo Mi struck while the iron was hot and used the ultimate weapon: “Perhaps everything is arranged by God? God arranged a demon like me to come to your side, perhaps just to let the world see clearly that believing in God is the only right way!”

This sentence finally convinced Anos.

He closed his eyes, made the sign of the cross, and prayed silently.

After a while, Anos opened his eyes and said, “God has not punished me. Perhaps this is all God’s arrangement.”

Luo Mi looked at Anos with sparkling eyes: “Come on, come on, add some special effects for me!”

Anos looked at Luo Mi deeply, gently stroked the gloves, and after a moment, a hint of hesitation appeared on his pretty face: “How…how do I add special effects?”

“It’s the sparkling light effects you see when you use magic!”

Luo Mi gestured with his hands and feet, and Anos finally understood. He was a little confused: “Those are the natural effects of casting magic, not something I did on purpose.”

Luo Mi said excitedly: “It’s almost the same, as long as it looks cool! Make me one too!”

Anos was silent for a moment, the cross emblem on his gloves lit up, and his index finger gently touched Luo Mi’s forehead.

Luo Mi touched his forehead and said, “Well, I have a complete plan. You will follow what I say later…”

….

After putting on the invisibility spell again, Luo Mi ran excitedly to the banquet hall to scare the mayor, while Anos remained in the room where the missionaries lived.

He stood in front of a floor-to-ceiling glass mirror and made the sign of the cross with some hesitation.

An illusory halo emitting holy light appeared above Anos’ head, and faint wings of light bloomed behind him. Hymns and bells were faintly heard surrounding him.

Anos looked at the mirror silently for a long time, and then a trace of confusion appeared in his blue eyes: “Is it too ostentatious?”

Before he could figure out the problem, he heard a shrill scream coming from downstairs!

….

When Luo Mi returned to the banquet hall, the dinner of the mayor and his two companions was just coming to an end.

The maids brought different fruits for the three men to taste, as well as tea for rinsing their mouths.

Luo Mi looked at the lights in the banquet hall, picked a place to stand, and made a cross on his chest in the order of top, left, bottom, and right.

His invisibility spell was not broken, but light suddenly gathered behind him, projecting his shadow onto the wall.

Luo Mi’s tail and wings had been freed, and as he stretched them out, the shadow turned into a huge demon.

“Dang.”

The mayor and the other two threw their wine glasses to the ground.

The witch trials in Larry Town had been going on for more than a year. Because Father Robin Valarie was reluctant to cooperate, most of the arrests, interrogations, and executions were done by the three of them. Although they were always done in the name of “exorcising the devil,” in fact, none of them had ever seen a real devil.

The mayor was just bragging to his two men that they were appreciated by the earl and that they could smuggle a few succubi from the duchy to keep at home for their enjoyment. However, after seeing the demon projection surrounded by flames, the middle-aged man with a big belly shook his legs and a foul smell emanated from his body.

Luo Mi covered her nose in disgust: “He was actually scared into peeing.”

When they saw that the other two people were not in much better condition, they all started praying frantically, hoping that God would protect them.

Luo Mi pinched his throat, made a rough voice, and laughed arrogantly: “Hahaha, it’s you who have been offering sacrifices to me?”

The tax collector held onto the table and mustered up his courage to say, “Nonsense! We are judging the witch…”

Luo Mi deliberately said: “Oh? Burning those innocent people to death, isn’t that a sacrifice to me? Those suffering souls were so delicious! Since you are so pious, I will be merciful and accept all of you, including you!”

In line with his words, the flames around the “Great Demon” became more vigorous, and the temperature in the entire banquet hall seemed to increase.

There were faint shadows flickering in the oil paintings on the wall, blue ghost lights were floating outside the window, and screams were heard outside the banquet hall, as if the servants and family members were being eaten by something.

The sheriff whose seat was closest to the door suddenly screamed and ran out the door!

Luo Mi, who was well prepared, jumped to his side, hooked his tail around the sheriff’s belt, and pulled him hard, causing him to fall heavily to the ground.

The sheriff screamed, covered his mouth and rolled on the ground – two of his front teeth were knocked out.

Luo Mi turned around and saw the mayor holding onto the wall and making the sign of the cross. He pinched his throat and sneered again: “Why, is that all you have the guts to do? You don’t have to count on the two missionaries in your family, I’ve already swallowed them up! Hehe, the souls of the Vatican’s running dogs taste pretty good too!”

After saying this he lifted his tail and threw a cross on the table.

This was what he found in the two missionaries’ room.

The mayor saw the Pietists’ cross with the same length on all four sides and saw his last hope shatter. His eyes bulged and almost fell out. He suddenly turned around and crashed into the expensive glass window of the banquet hall!

His fat body smashed the glass, and the sharp glass fragments cut him all over.

Luo Mi was not prepared for this and he actually got away.

He was stunned for a moment but did not chase after him. He turned to look at the tax collector and said in a rough voice, “We’ll have dinner later. Let’s try the dessert first.”

The tax collector rolled his eyes and fell limply to the ground.

He actually fainted.

Luo Mi looked around, picked up a heavy plate, and knocked the sheriff, who was still rolling around, unconscious. Then he spat in disdain: “That’s it?”

He looked at the two unconscious people and suddenly became interested. He plucked a hair from the decoration in the corner, dipped it in the sauce from the food and the sheriff’s blood, and began to smear it on the two men’s faces.

….

The mayor stumbled out, trying hard to think of where to go.

The two missionaries hadn’t shown up yet. Even if they hadn’t been eaten by the devil, they probably didn’t have a good end. The only thing he could do now was to go to the church. Although he knew Father Valarie’s power very well, that was the church of the Vatican after all. The devil shouldn’t dare to just break in, right?

Thinking of this, the mayor couldn’t help but feel extremely regretful: Perhaps the miracle that happened to Vivian Moon during the day was a hint from God!

Was it because he disobeyed God’s suggestion that caused God to give up his protection of Larry Town, allowing the devil to break in?

Thinking of this, the mayor couldn’t help but pray madly in his heart: God, if you are willing to protect Larry Town and me again, I will do anything for you!

The mayor was distracted for a moment and didn’t notice that there was a fence of the manor in front of him. He bumped into it head-on and was dizzy.

When he regained his balance, he saw a young man in black and white clergyman’s clothing standing outside the fence.

The person was the most beautiful one the mayor had ever seen. His golden hair was as warm as the sun and his eyes were as blue as the ocean. He looked like a real angel.
