He held the knife and stared at the wild boar he had dragged back in the evening.

Ever since he could remember, he often felt hungry and had a huge appetite, not knowing whether it was due to the lack of a physical body. He almost never had enough to eat. Therefore, for similar prey, he would cut off the legs and give them to Dedao, and then devour the rest alive.

But today, he didn’t want to touch it.

The stove burned all night long, and the aroma of braised pork wafted through the valley.

Until dawn broke, there was no sound of Wei Dedao urging him for food. Wei Xi sat cross-legged in front of the stove and looked at the sky and heard the sound of the beeping charcoal fire extinguished. He finally came to his senses and stood up silently.

He found a comfortable spot in the backyard, dug a hole with a shovel, and then went back to the house to take out the cold Wei Dedao.

Wei Dedao always kept his mouth shut tightly as he kept mumbling. Wei Xi thought about it after putting him down, then dug a small hole for him next to him, dragged himself to the shelf in the backyard, and the dried human heads that the old man was so proud of, and which had hung there for who knows how many years fell in one after another.

The skeletons were smooth, round and cute, with their eyes wide open, and they looked very delicious as they rolled in the pit.

But Wei Dedao never let him eat these.

Wei Xi stood in front of the two pits, suddenly hungry and confused.

Hearing the sound of footsteps behind him, he turned around and saw hundreds of wild animals coming outside the fence. These jackals, tigers, leopards, chickens, ducks, cattle and sheep were all those who loved to come and listen to Dedao’s sermons on weekdays. When Wei Xi saw them, he became even more hungry: there was no human habitation in this mountain, so there were many intelligent animals, which were obviously a convenient and great tonic, but Wei Dedao did not allow him to eat them. Wei Dedao was very annoying when he was noisy, so he usually had to run far away to find ordinary prey.

The stag with strong antlers at the front caught his eye, and his legs were obviously shaking, but he still nodded his neck towards Wei Xi, then walked to Wei Dedao’s pit and put down the weeds he had brought.

Wei Xi stared at them for a while, then finally walked away and allowed them to come forward to worship.

No one came empty-handed, even the wild dogs had a pheasant in their mouths. Wei Xi sat cross-legged in front of the broken fence, watching the rations that he had coveted for many years but never eaten under Wei Dedao’s restraint come and go, his heart so silent that he could not feel any waves.

Until the weasel who had finished offering the bird eggs came forward.

Wei Xi leaned his head against the fence, looking up and down, lazily: “Are you looking for death?”

As soon as the weasel’s tail exploded, it instinctively turned around and ran for its life. After running away for two steps, it slowed down and turned back three times with every step it took. Infinite desire burst out in the eyes of the thief-browed rat.

This was meant to lead the way. Wei Xi didn’t want to pay attention to it at first, but when he saw Wei Dedao’s tomb filled with fruits, he was so confused that he didn’t know what to do, so he got up and followed him.

Followed by the hungry boss, the weasel ran as fast as lightning and soon led Wei Xi to a mountain wall. Wei Xi recognized this at a glance as the edge of the mountain and the end of his hunting range for decades. He had been here countless times, and every time he had been blocked by invisible barriers because he had no physical body.

The barrier of this mountain was the door god that protected the souls in the mountain from the outside world. It was also the shackle that trapped the souls in the mountain from undergoing normal reincarnation.

This place was independent of the world, and even ghosts had never set foot here. Therefore, if the souls who died here could not find someone to teach them about salvation, they could only stay there day after day, becoming a place where obsessions could not be eliminated and where everyone is looking for a substitute spirit.

However, there were originally few evil spirits in the mountains. Wei Xi could occasionally catch a few to eat in the early stages of developing his spiritual intelligence, but he never saw them again after that.

What a pity, ghosts had strong Yin energy, and his feeling of fullness after eating them was actually much stronger than that of pheasants and wild boars…

Wei Xi’s thoughts changed, and then he came back to think, what did the weasel bring him here for?

The weasel in front suddenly stopped and let out a long, strenuous cry.

Wei Xi knew what it had brought him here for.

At the boundary of the mountain wall in front, there had always been only overgrown weeds, but now there was a dead body lying quietly.

He had found some delicious food and came to offer it to the boss.
